I know it can hurt when comments don’t go our way on stories, but part of me feels that that, unfortunately, is part of the risk of baring yourself to the public in these ways. And that’s why I hold people who do in such high regard. That’s not meant to condone anything unfortunate that was said, but more as a way of saying that trying to prevent it can be like trying to stop the tides — it’d be really hard to do. And it completely sucks and it’s not right, but sometimes the easiest and healthiest thing to do is to just brush it aside and pay the person no mind. Don’t even engage, you know?

It’s startling how hard it seems to be for people to simply not comment on something that might not suit them. Like… just click away from the story and move on, folks.
