The bald summer

Jacklyn and Alex skipped out of the school doors, ready for a summer of freedom and adventure. They were excited to spend the break together, as they had become the best of friends. Jacklyn swung her long red curls behind her and grinned at her new friend, Alex, who had a pixie cut that accentuated her gorgeous brown eyes. As they approached Jacklyn’s house, they hatched a plan to convince her parents to let her stay with Alex for the summer instead of going to her grandparents’ house. When they told Alex’s mom, she gladly agreed to have Jacklyn stay with them. The summer began with slumber parties, giggles, and girly activities. Days were spent at the park, playing dress-up, and swimming, while nights were filled with secret midnight feasts and scary movies. One sunny morning, as they were lazily waking up on Alex’s comfortable bed, they heard Alex’s mom call them from downstairs. “Girls, it’s haircut time!” she announced cheerfully. Their excitement turned into confusion and maybe even dread. Entering the backyard, the girls saw a chair set up with clippers and a razor on a table. Jacklyn’s heart raced, fear surging through her veins. Alex’s mom instructed them to remove their clothes to avoid getting hair on them. “Since you’re our guest, Jacklyn, why don’t you go first?” Alex’s mom said, her eyes twinkling with mischievousness. Jacklyn, unable to refuse, hesitantly moved towards the chair. The clippers buzzed to life, and her red curls were quickly sheared away, leaving only stubble. Jacklyn was too shocked to cry or express any emotion. But the haircut wasn’t over. Alex’s mom massaged shaving cream onto Jacklyn’s scalp and deftly shaved off any remaining stubble, ensuring her head was smooth as a baby’s bottom. Just to be thorough, another layer of shaving cream was applied and Jacklyn’s head was meticulously shaved again. The bald Jacklyn looked up at her friend Alex, whose hair had also been shorn off, and found it hard to believe that they had both experienced such a transformation. They seemed different, but Jacklyn found Alex even more attractive. That night, as they lay in bed, affection bloomed between the two friends. They made love and began dating that memorable summer, discovering how much they loved rubbing and massaging each other’s bald heads. The summer continued with Alex’s mom insisting that they keep their heads shaved, which they willingly agreed to. This became their shared identity, a symbol of their love and unique bond. As the summer came to an end, the two girls allowed their hair to grow back, but they continued to date throughout the year. Next summer, when Jacklyn’s parents went away again, she excitedly went back to Alex’s house, eagerly anticipating shaving her head bald once more. And so, Jacklyn and Alex forged a unique love that blossomed in the midst of shared vulnerability, as their bald heads became a celebration of their connection, something they cherished beyond measure.
