As Samantha walked into her mother’s barbershop, she saw Amanda, Khloe’s sister, sitting in her mother’s barber chair. Amanda had a chin length bob haircut. Her hair was almost exactly like Samantha’s. The only real difference was the undercut lenght. Samantha had a number two tarpered to a number one, where khloe’s was a 000. Samantha began walking closer to her, when she realized that her mother was oiling up her clippers.
At this point, Samantha was very confused as to what was going on. Yesterday, they saw Amanda walk out of the Barber shop with a fresh cut . In an effort to find out what was going on, Samantha said “why is she in the chair”. Taylor, Samantha’s mother, made eye to eye contact with Samantha, and then said “I’m going to be shaving Amanda’s bald, Samantha”. Samantha quick looked over Khloe’s mother. Laura, khloe’s mother, was sitting in a waiting area chair.
When Laura realized that Samantha was looking at her, she said “I’m sure you know that Amanda was warned that this could happen”. Laura took a brief pause, and then “she was well aware that if I found hard evidence that she was smoking, her head would be completely shorn”. With out hast, Samantha said “when you first questioned her, she was not smoking”.
She took a brief pause, and then said “you constantly harassing her about smoking is what drove her to smoking. If she was going to be treated like a smoker, she should just be a smoker ”. By the time Samantha got done saying that, Taylor flipped the clippers on. Once the clippers were humming, Taylor tilted Amanda’s head back. Taylor then placed the clippers right in front of Khloe’s forehead.
Taylor looked at Khloe’s mother, before she made her first pass. Laura nodded when Taylor looked over at her. In Taylor’s mind, that was the sign that she needed. With out hast, she began making her first pass over Amanda’s head. She ran the clippers from Amanda’s forehead to her crown. Once the first pass was completed, Laura got up from the waiting area chair. When she grabbed her purse, she said “thanks, for agreeing to drop her off on your way out of town”.
As Taylor began to make the second pass, Taylor said “no problem, Laura”. Samantha gave Laura a dirty look, as she walked past her. By the time Laura got to the door, Amanda was crying. Once Samantha saw her crying, she said “I’ll go gas up the truck”. Once she said that, she began to walk towards the back door of the shop. Just before Samantha walked out the door, her mother said “call Khloe, and let her know we can pick her up at her apartment”.
Taylor showed no emotion, as she continued to peel her hair off. Just before Laura exited the barbershop, laura said “I like how you can just do that with no emotion”. Right after Laura said that, she exit Taylor’s Taylor knew that Khloe’s mother was a very strict, and she had assumed that why Ananda was sitting good for Taylor. Amanda’s head was quickly reduced to stubble. Once there was no more need for the clippers, Taylor hug them up on the wall hook.
After the clippers, where safety is secure, Taylor reached for her pack of cigarettes. She flipped the top of the pack open, and then walked to the right side of her chair. As she implied like Amanda could take one, Amanda said “is this some kind of test”. She took a brief pause, and then said “my mother just had me shaved down for smoking”. Taylor ran her fingers a top of Amanda’s fresh shorn top, and then said “no, this is not test”. Amanda knew she shouldn’t take one, but she did. After she pulled one out, Taylor flipped the pack closed. Once it was closed, she tossed the pack on her vanity.
Amanda put the cigarette to lips, and then Taylor lit it for her. After she lit Amanda’s cigarette, she said “the first time I had my head shaved was in that very chair”. After Amanda bexhaled the hit, she said “you have a shaved head, Mrs Edwards”. Taylor laughted, and then said “I have been wearing wigs most of all my adult life”.
Right after Taylor said that, Amanda took another hit of her cigarette. Amanda exhaled the hit of her cigarette, as Taylor walked to a waiting area chair. The chair was located directly in front of Amanda. Just before Taylor sat down, she said “I was also 18 years old the first I was shaved down”. She took a brief pause, and then said “don’t look at this as a punishment. Look at it as a new beginning ”.
After Amanda exhaled the hit, she said “to what”. She took a brief pause, and then said “your going to Job Corp, next week”. Amanda took another hit of her cigarette, as Taylor said “in a few days, you will be done with your mom”. After Amanda exhaled the hit, she said “I’m done with her for good once I get on that bus”. As Amanda ashed her cigarette, Taylor said “you need to focus on getting your GED and trade”.
Amanda stubbed out her cigarette in the ash tray in the arm rest. When Taylor saw her stub out her cigarette, she walked over to the chair Amanda was sitting in. Taylor reclined the chair back, and then said “I’ll wash you, now”. As the water began to flow, Taylor said “what trade do you want to go for” .Taylor began massaging shampoo into Amanda’s remaining hair and scalp, as she said “nursing”. Taylor could tell she was enjoying it, so she said “how amazing does this feel”. With out hast, Amanda said “it feels pretty good”. Taylor grinned, and then said “had Khloe not got in trouble, she could have made a decent living with training in nursing”.
Taylor began to rinse Amanda, when Amanda said “the girl just don’t think”. As Taylor began to rinse out the shampoo, Taylor said “agreed”. With out even thinking about it, Amanda said “she was in that bar with a fake I.D.”. Before Amanda could say anything esle, Taylor said “I know. I was the one that bonded her out”. Once she said that, Taylor wrapped a towel around Amanda’s head.
When the chair was back in the up right position, Taylor said “when she got in the car, she said “some random girl ask me if she could take her picture with Brantley. I beat her ass, after she said”. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing ”. As Taylor rubbed the towel on her head, Amanda thought that was it was highly unlikely that she would want to stay bald. When Taylor believed that Amanda’s head was dry enough, she tossed the towel into the hamper.
Once the towel was in hamper, Taylor said “are you ready to loss that stubble”. With out even thinking about it, Amanda said “Straight razor it all off”. Taylor laughted, and then said ” are you sick of the stubble, already”. With out even thinking about it, Amanda said “im just read to get this over with”.
Soon after Amanda said that, Taylor was placing a hot towel on her head. She heated the towel up in the microwave. With out thinking about it, Amanda said “this feel awesome”. Just after she said that, Taylor lit a cigarette. After she exhaled her first hit, she said “We’ll leave that on for a little while”.
Right after Taylor said that, she checked her watch. Once she realized what time it was, she knew she would need to be quick about this. They were supposed to met the guy with the Ranger in 3 hours. With out even thinking about it, Taylor took a few quick hits, and then stubbed out the cigarette. She than walked to her vanity. She flicked a towel over her shoulder, and then picked up a can of shaving foam. As she walked back to Amanda, she said “the hot lather machine is broke”.
Right after she said that, she began applying shave cream to her head. As she set the can of shaving cream back on her vanity, she said “this will have to do”. Taylor began to spread the shave cream all over with her scalp, as she said “it’s fine”. Taylor did best to make sure Amanda’s entire head was cover. Once she was satisfied that all areas where covered, she washed off her hands in the sink.
After Taylor dried off her hands, she was ready to get to work. With out hast, she removed a stainless steel straight razor from the drawer. At this point, Amanda just wanted Taylor to relieve her of the last of her remaining hair. Taylor began to lower the chair. The clean towel was still on Taylor’s shoulder, as she flicked the razor open.
Once the razor was ready to go, Taylor said “just relax, Amanda. I don’t want any nicks you”. With the chair dropped to the floor, Taylor was easily able to come over the top of her head. She began by gliding the razor against the grain, which meant Amanda was going as short as humanly possible. Amanda liked the sound the razor made, as it removed her remaining hair. She could feel every small strokes that Taylor.
For more than a few minutes, for the most part, the only sounds in the shop where the sound coming from the scraping. There occasional click of heels, as Taylor repositioned herself. Every so often Taylor would wipe off the excess foam onto the towel, but that didn’t make much of a voice. After she was done wiping, the stroking sound would start, again.
She contunied to go against the grain. She finished off the top and right hand side of Amanda’s head, and then immediately changed her grip. The grip change made it easier to do the upwards stroke. The left Amanda’s head was done very quickly. It was now time for Taylor to do the back. She used her free hand to steady her. At this point, Amanda was starting to feel the heat of the slightly irritated skin.
Taylor knew the back was going to be the hardest part. Amanda had two large tendons on the sides of her neck. The area around the occipital bone also required the most alot of extra care. Taylor was focused on getting though this with out blood shed. Every stroke was well thought out, and no mistakes where made.
Taylor began cleaning up excess foam around Amanda’s ears and neck, as she said “where almost done, Amanda”. Taylor took a brief pause, and then said “I just need to put on some after shave balm”. Right after Taylor said that, she got the balm.
There was definitely a healthy amount into her hand, when she began applying it. It slowly run through her fingers onto Amanda’s head. Then she started to massage it in. Before she got it on her hands, she put the after shave back on the vanity. Amanda’s head was perfectly smooth.
Once she was done, she turned the chair. At this point, Amanda could see herself in the mirror. She now knew what she would look like for atleast the next few months. Her new look would be a constant reminder of wicked her mother could be. At this point, all Amanda could do was accept that was now her.
