My Story Ideas Dump

My drive to write can be pretty fickle, so I usually have way more ideas than I know what to do with. Here are a bunch of concepts you’re free to use if you want. I might get around to writing some one of these days. Let me know your thoughts on these plots.

Body Swap: a classic freaky friday style body swap story where two enemies wake up in each other’s body. In my imagination it’s a punk and a more traditional type. The latter takes the opportunity to clean up the punk’s image (including a short haircut), so the punk tries to punkify the conservative’s look, and I guess they probably both end with buzzed or shaved heads after some escalation. I’d probably write this as M/M but it could work with female characters too.

Relaxation tape: a girl likes to fall asleep to guided meditations playing on her headphones. Someone swaps out the audio file for one with subliminal messages that encourage her to cut off all her hair. She, naturally, succumbs to the urge.

Miscommunication: the protagonist has a day where no one seems to listen to what she actually says, no matter how many times she explains it. She orders tea, they give her coffee. When she complains, the worker thanks her for the kind words. She goes through a whole day like this, culminating in a trip to the hair salon where she asks for a trim and recieves a nice neat buzzcut instead.

I’d also perhaps like to write an idealised version of my first proper short cut. In reality, I cut my long hair to an inch or so, and over time gradually worked my way down through clipper grades. But I really wish I had run the guardless clippers all over.
