ParticipantAfter having found two stories involving minors from the author Wombel I asked a German native speaker for his opinion. He agreed that “Nele wird erwachsen”, “Beim klauen erwischt”, “Der Sommerurlaub”, “Nicht nur Schafe werden geschoren”, “Schlechte Noten, keine Haare”, “Bei Papa ist alles anders”, “Kein Haar mehr in der Suppe”, “Haare oder Taschengeld”, “Bei Tante Ulla auf dem Bauernhof”, “Jetzt fussel ich nicht mehr” and “Wie meine Frau und meine Tochter, zur Glatze kamen” are involving minors as main characters and are clearly across the line.
Can somebody please double check and make Wombel aware of the rules of this page?

ModeratorI’ll take a look at them, but I really don’t speak or read German in a significant way, and google translate is limited. I have no idea where the German/English dictionary I used to use in college is.
31st January 2025 at 9:22 pm #64863ModeratorThe main character in “Nele wird erwachsen” seems to most likely be about 20 years old when most of the story takes place. The reference to her at age 14 is her looking at an old photo before her school reunion.

I have to admit I didn’t translate that far into it, but it’s obvious the main character is a minor and I don’t think she grows up before the story gets going. And really I just don’t wan to read that far into it.
I’m going to just take the others down since though every single one might not be inappropriate, enough are that it seems better to just err on the side of caution.
