ParticipantMay I respectfully suggest to the moderators that they remove “Reader’s Experience Chat (Author and Reader) – 2” by “Legendary Head Shave Tales” from the list of haircutting stories. My reasoning is straightforward. It is NOT a haircutting story.
The poster states they are relatively new to the site so they may be unaware that an excellent and well-established feedback mechanism is kindly provided by the owner of the site. This allows readers of stories to offer their thoughts and opinions to the authors of those stories. A story may be “Liked” and/or “Comments” may be given, and the system works extremely well.
If everyone chooses to repeatedly post irrelevant non-story material under the guise of it being a story then I believe that the whole community will ultimately suffer. By doing so, not only would it be discourteous to the owner of this site, but also disrespectful to all the users of this site.
Please may I suggest that the moderators advise the person in question to review the “Likes” and “Comments” on their own stories and allow their personal assessment of this information to guide their endeavours in the future.

anonymous userParticipantThank you for reporting this. I have messaged the author to ask for them to post non stories in the forums in future. If this happens again I will take them down.
The reason I haven’t taken this down is just because we haven’t been fully clear on this in the past and it feels harsh to take it down without prior warning.

I concur that it may have been harsh to take it down without prior warning, particularly if no one else has posted similar material in the past. That said, I would have thought that the person concerned would have shown good grace and deleted their erroneous posting themselves, although hopefully they will show respect for the community in the future.
Thanks for all the time and effort that you and the other moderators generously invest to ensure the site continues to run smoothly and safely for the benefit of the whole community.
