Chapter 1: The “Genius Burnout” Solution

The lab in the Test household smelled of ozone and high-grade solder. Mary and Susan were hunched over a massive, chrome-plated sphere, their signature red ponytails swishing as they worked.

“I’m telling you, Susan, the thermal dynamics in these ‘Cerebral Thermal Regulator’ blueprints are revolutionary,” Mary said, adjusting her glasses. “An anonymous donor from the ‘Universal High-IQ Trust’ sent them. If we can vent the heat from our frontal lobes during intense calculations, we’ll be 40% more efficient!”

“And we’ll finally have the brainpower to make Gil notice us,” Susan added, tightening a bolt with a laser-wrench. “The plans say the device uses localized airflow to prevent ‘genius burnout.’ It’s the breakthrough of the century!”

Chapter 2: The Golden Touch

Suddenly, the lab door slid open and Bling-Bling Boy floated in on a gold-plated hover-platform. “Did someone say ‘breakthrough’? My scanners picked up a high-level data transmission to this lab. If there’s a genius-level invention being built, Eugene Being-Bling Hamilton must be part of the legacy!”

“Actually, Eugene, we could use your help,” Mary admitted. “The power core needs a gold-alloy stabilizer to handle the high-torque ‘cooling’ fans.”

Bling-Bling smirked, tossing a gold bar into the machine’s hopper. “Anything for my darling Susan! But if we’re doing this, we’re doing it in style.” He began adding “luxury” modifications—silk-lined headrests, lavender-scented mist injectors, and high-tensile neck restraints for “maximum stability.”

Unbeknownst to them, every “luxury” upgrade Eugene added was actually a UHT requirement. The silk headrests were designed to catch hair without tangling the blades, and the neck restraints were there to ensure the victims couldn’t flinch during the precision fading.

Chapter 3: The Scanning Phase

With the machine completed, it looked like a high-tech double-salon chair enclosed in a pressurized glass dome. Johnny and Dukey wandered in, munching on nachos.

“Yo, girls! Nice juice-maker,” Johnny teased.

“It’s not a juice-maker, Johnny! It’s the future of neuroscience,” Susan snapped. She and Mary stepped into the seats. The “luxury” restraints clicked shut around their shoulders and foreheads.

“Activating the ‘Ultimate Brain-Cooling’ protocol!” Bling-Bling announced, slamming the master switch.

Suddenly, the dome hissed shut. A cold, female robotic voice echoed inside: “Target acquired. Commencing Standardization Protocol. Analyzing follicle density… 32 inches of excess material detected. Beginning removal.”

“Wait… excess material?” Mary’s eyes widened. “Susan, look at the HUD!”

The screen in front of them showed a 3D wireframe of their heads. Red lines began to trace paths across their hair—one at Mary’s jawline, and a series of tight, overlapping circles around Susan’s ears and neck.

Chapter 4: The Precision Cut

From the headrests, silver, high-speed precision clippers and jagged combs emerged on hydraulic arms.

“Wait! These aren’t fans!” Susan yelled as the first mechanical arm grabbed her long ponytail, stretching it taut.

Just then, Sissy Blakely walked into the lab. She stopped dead, staring at the twins trapped in the whirring machine. “Uh, guys? Why is that robot eating your hair?”

She stepped closer, fascinated. She watched as a laser-guided blade sliced through Mary’s hair in one clean zip. A massive, eighteen-inch length of red hair fell to the floor like a discarded silk ribbon.

“Is it… does it hurt?” Sissy asked, her voice a mix of horror and weird curiosity. She leaned in, watching the clippers move with surgical speed. “It’s weirdly satisfying to watch. It’s like watching a lawnmower, but for geniuses.”

“Sissy, get us out of here!” Susan cried. But as she spoke, a clipper set to a #2 guard began buzzing up the back of her neck. Sissy watched as Susan’s pale skin was revealed inch by inch, the red fuzz spraying against the glass.

“Whoa,” Sissy whispered. “That’s… really short. I wonder what it feels like to have all that weight just gone?” She reached out a hand, but then she heard a secondary arm click into place, its sensors scanning her own blonde ponytail. “Yeah, no. I’m out. Good luck with the new looks!” Sissy bolted, terrified she was next on the “Standardization” list.

Chapter 5: The Reveal

The machine finished with a final, triumphant ding. The dome hissed open, and the twin chairs rotated outward. A vacuum system sucked away the last bits of red hair from their shoulders, leaving the floor carpeted in their former glory.

Mary sat frozen. Her long hair was gone, replaced by a razor-sharp, structured bob that cut off exactly at her jawline. Her forehead was dominated by micro-bangs—straight-edged and barely an inch long.

Susan looked even more radical. She had been given a jagged, sporty pixie cut. The sides were tapered tight to her scalp, with the top left messy and textured. Her neck felt cold for the first time in years.

Johnny burst into a fit of laughter so hard he nearly dropped his nachos. “Whoa! Nice ‘Brain-Cooler’ girls! You went from ‘Science Geniuses’ to ‘Angry Librarians’ in five minutes flat!”

“Look at the bright side,” Dukey added, stifling a grin. “At least you’ll save a fortune on shampoo.”

“My Susan!” Bling-Bling wailed, though he was already snapping photos with his golden phone. “The long hair! The majesty! It’s gone! But… wait… the pixie cut actually highlights your cheekbones. I’ll send you a gold-encrusted hat immediately!”

  1. A very pleasant and exciting story to read and understand. Two girls with traditional ponytails transition to a provocative, seductive short hairstyle, which they may or may not find appealing. It is for their own benefit anyway. The pictures are pleasing to behold.
