The strange story of how someone else’s demands became her opportunities.

Chapter 1.

Mila woke to the sound of a notification. The phone lay on the pillow next to her face, the screen still glowing in the dim room. She squinted, adjusting to the light, and unlocked it.

The message was official. The language of the notification was Spanish, which after a year in the country she still hadn’t properly learned. The online translator produced:

“Dear content creator. During a review of your account, serious violations of the platform’s terms of use were identified. Within the next 24 hours the account may be blocked without possibility of recovery. All balance funds will be frozen pending clarification of the circumstances.”

Mila sat up in bed. Her heart immediately began pounding, heavy and fast. She reread the text again, hoping it was a translation error and she’d misunderstood something.

Following the message were links to the rules she had violated. There were many, and each subsequent violation seemed more absurd than the last. Unspecified tax residency, lack of proof of majority — the uploaded documents didn’t guarantee the video wasn’t filmed before turning 18 — some other points too. The last point stated that she might be an AI generation. At the absurdity of it, Mila collapsed and cried into the pillow.

Her life hadn’t seemed prosperous even before this. Forced emigration, a foreign country whose language she didn’t know, no friends or relatives. All of this had given Mila severe social anxiety, which made her withdraw even further. A modeling agency had accepted her portfolio, but jobs were extremely rare. When her savings were running out, Mila, in despair, started an OnlyFans page. She was still stunningly beautiful and had gained a modest following. Alas, not as many as she would have liked, but she couldn’t actively attract an audience. The content was quite tame. In addition to her modeling shots, she posted artistic nude content and sometimes filmed topless videos, covering her breasts with her long light-brown hair. The money was enough for rent and food, but she hoped the situation would gradually improve.

A ban meant ruin. The audience wouldn’t follow her to another platform, there wouldn’t be enough money for next month’s rent, and most importantly there would be no official source of income for renewing her visa. Mila felt despair.

Her crying was interrupted again by a notification. An email had arrived. The sender’s address meant nothing to her.

“I know you’ve run into a block on your OnlyFans account. The block can be reversed. Since AI generations do poorly at depicting the process of cutting hair, you need to upload to your profile, within 24 hours, a video of you cutting your hair SHORT. The conditions are not negotiable — if the video isn’t uploaded, the account will be blocked.”

Thoughts swarmed in Mila’s head. The demand looked absurd. Surely anyone could see she wasn’t a generation, and prove it a million simple ways. Unless the sender’s goal was simply to take her hair from her. And could this anonymous person even unblock her account. And hadn’t he blocked it himself on trumped-up grounds. The despair kept growing.

Mila went to the bathroom — she finally needed to brush her teeth. Taking the toothbrush, she stared into the mirror at her hair, which reached her lower back. It fell over her shoulders, streaming down, curving around her chest. She’d forgotten when she last cut it. She took a heavy lock in her hand and stroked it. The tears came again.

She spent the day trying things that led nowhere. She filed an appeal against the platform’s action, wrote to support about possible blackmail. They replied with form letters citing the violated terms. By evening, all that was left was to carry out the letter’s demand as a last hope. She found large scissors at home, set her phone on a tripod, and started recording.

In the mirror she looked exhausted: red eyes, pale face, long light-brown hair falling in a heavy wave to her waist. She sat on a chair. For a few seconds she simply looked into the camera, gathering her strength. Then, quietly, almost in a whisper, she said:

“If anyone’s watching this… I need to do this.”

She picked up the scissors. Large, tailor’s shears, heavy in her hand. The blades were sharp — she’d tested them on a scrap of paper earlier that day. Mila separated a wide lock on the right side of her face. The hair was thick, heavy, slightly wavy. She held her breath.

The scissors clicked.

A long lock fell onto her lap. Almost to her waist. Mila looked at it for a few seconds, then shook it onto the floor. Something clenched inside her. She took the next lock. Another click. Another dark-blonde ribbon slid down.

At first she cut slowly, almost carefully. She tried to keep the cuts at least somewhat even. But the further she went, the more her hands trembled. Hair fell onto her shoulders, her chest, her thighs, gathering around the chair in a soft dark pile. Each time another long lock came free, Mila quietly sobbed. She didn’t wipe away her tears — let the camera see everything.

By the time she reached shoulder length, it became physically easier. Her head had lost its familiar weight. But inside there was only an empty, heavy despair. Mila kept going. Lock after lock, cutting, watching the hair she’d grown for years turn into a dead pile on the floor.

The back of her head turned out to be the hardest part. She had to tilt her head, working almost blind, feeling with her fingers for where length remained. The scissors closed again and again.

When she finally straightened up and looked at the screen, a different girl was sitting in the frame. A short bob just below the ears, slightly uneven at the edges. Her neck looked long and bare. Her shoulders — too exposed. Her face, without the familiar frame of long hair, looked sharper and more defenseless.

Mila slowly ran both hands over the new length. Her fingers slid over the short ends she couldn’t have imagined touching an hour earlier. She leaned down, picked up one of the longest locks from the floor, and held it in her palm for a long time. Then she opened her fingers and let it fall.

“There…” — her voice trembled.

She looked into the lens for a few more seconds, not stopping the recording. Tears kept running down her cheeks. Then she reached forward and stopped the camera.

The room went very quiet. Mila sat among her own hair, stroking the short bob with her palm again and again, as if trying to get used to the fact that this was now her reflection.

Twenty minutes later she uploaded the video.

After that she lay down on the bed, buried her face in the pillow, and ran a hand over her short hair. She cried for half the night before finally falling asleep.

Chapter 2.

She woke with a heavy head. Her reflection in the mirror brought tears again. But the first thing she did was go check the account — it still wasn’t blocked.

And what she truly hadn’t expected — a real storm of passions had broken out under the haircut video. Some subscribers were outraged that she’d cut her hair, some because she’d been dressed, but there were enthusiastic comments too. Some said it had finally happened and they were waiting for more; some said they dreamed of seeing her bald. There was a question about the hair: what had she done with it, since it could have been sold for good money.

The hair still lay in a pile on the floor. Mila began gathering it up by locks. After a short search she found a place nearby that might buy her hair, and in the end got 300 euros for it. The feeling was mixed — on one hand she needed the money, on the other it felt like selling a part of herself.

When she got back, she found another letter from the anonymous sender in her inbox.

“Pleasant to see that you attempted to fulfill the condition, which is why your account has not yet been blocked, but you understood it incorrectly. SHORT meant clipper-cut. AI can cut hair with scissors. You won’t be able to fool me.”

Mila opened her account. It still wasn’t blocked, which meant the anonymous sender really did have leverage. And also, although a few people had unsubscribed, the total subscriber count had grown noticeably anyway. And they were demanding more.

The next thought struck her like an electric shock: with the new haircut she would no longer get bookings from the agency. She’d need to at least redo her portfolio in the new look, wait for it to circulate through catalogs, wait for clients to be found… OnlyFans was now her only source of income. Which meant she had no choice…

She went down to the little shop below, where, to her surprise, she found a hair clipper. In a dented box was the clipper itself, a charger, and a set of guards. A spark of excitement was already beginning to stir in Mila, but it still felt as though she were buying an instrument for her own execution.

Coming home, she turned it on. It growled menacingly. Mila turned it off and put it on the charger.

She watched a few videos of people cutting their own hair with clippers. It seemed so strange. Finally she set up her phone to record, put one of the guards on the clipper, grabbed the scissors, sat on the chair, pressed record, and began.

“You asked for shorter, and I’m granting your request. Hope you like it.”

She picked up the clipper. Turned it on. The sound filled the room. Mila brought the running blades to her right temple and froze for a moment. Then drew it upward. The clipper’s sound changed, became even sharper.

Hair fell down. Short clippings landed on her shoulder, her chest, her t-shirt. The skin of her temple immediately felt an unfamiliar coolness. Mila swallowed and made another pass, higher, taking more. The bob began to disappear.

She tried not to rush. She started with the right side, then moved to the left and finally the back. She held the hair on top down with her hand, having first formed a parting line. Each pass left about half a centimeter of hair behind. She felt the length with her fingers, checked the mirror, went over it again.

When the temples and the back of her head were clipped, she took the scissors and began cutting the hair on the crown, leaving only a few centimeters. The uneven cuts fell into ragged feathers, unexpectedly creating a rather elegant messiness. When there was no more long hair on the crown, she set the scissors aside.

For a few seconds she sat with her eyes down, then looked into the camera, at the mirror. She touched the new haircut. Ran both hands through it, trying to style it. A day earlier her hair had flowed like a waterfall down her back; now its remnants slipped through her fingers. She wasn’t crying anymore. The feeling of her neck, the reflection in the mirror — all of it felt foreign. Mila felt like someone else.

“There,” she said quietly. “Short. Clippers. As requested.”

She reached out and stopped the recording. Her hair lay on the floor again, far less of it than before. Mila gathered it up and threw it away. Now it wasn’t a part of her anymore, just trash.

She uploaded the video close to midnight. She gave it a short title: “Clippers.”

That night she again couldn’t fall asleep for a long time; this time she wasn’t crying, but her short nape and temples prickled horribly against the pillow. And somewhere inside, an understanding was already beginning to grow that this wasn’t the end yet.

Chapter 3.

As soon as Mila woke up in the morning she felt the prickling again. She rubbed her short hair, stretched, and opened her eyes.

First thing, she checked the account. Not blocked. The “Clippers” video was gaining views, the subscriber count had grown again. Trading her hair for a noticeable bump in donations no longer looked like such a bad decision. The comments were nearly unanimous — everyone was waiting for her to go all the way and shave her head.

A letter from the anonymous sender was already waiting in her inbox.

“Unfortunately, you still don’t seem to understand. You should have shaved your head with the clippers entirely, no guard. Your account will be blocked at noon if you don’t manage to upload the required video before then.”

Mila read it and quietly exhaled. She understood where this was heading. She’d had no chance from the very start.

She went and washed up, brewed her morning coffee, and headed back to the filming spot. Before starting, she examined her haircut one last time. The feathered layers had gotten even more rumpled overnight and looked tousled — and somehow even cuter for it.

The clipper settled into her hand with a confident motion. She started recording.

“Seems like everyone here’s been waiting for this.”

With those words she turned on the clipper, brought it to her forehead, and drew it up toward the crown. The clipper left a bare white stripe behind it.

The process reminded Mila of mowing overgrown grass with a lawnmower, and she smiled despite herself. The first white stripe was followed by a second, then a third. Next she cleared the hair at her temples and the back of her head. A few more passes and only short stubble remained on her head.

Mila was almost laughing as she ran her hand over her velvety scalp. She could now feel every breeze, and she found that she rather liked it.

She blew a kiss at the camera. And turned it off.

She needed to upload the video urgently, which she hurried to do, again giving it a simple name: “Bald.”

Chapter 4.

While the video was gathering views and comments, Mila waited anxiously for a possible block. But neither at noon nor later did it come.

Instead, another message arrived — from one of her subscribers. He was full of admiration for her and offered five hundred euros if she would shave her head with a razor and post it as a video.

Some time later, Mila again sat on the chair in front of the camera. This time she no longer wondered why she’d hit record.

Thick foam covered her head, turning the short stubble into a dense white mask. Mila picked up the razor and held it in her hand for a few seconds, looking straight into the lens.

Then she brought the blade to her right temple.

The first stroke was almost silent. The foam parted in an even track, revealing pale skin beneath. Mila paused, looked at the result, and touched the freed patch with her fingertips.

She shivered, just barely.

The second stroke was more confident. From the temple the razor rose to the area above the ear, then continued higher. Mila gradually found a comfortable rhythm: a short stroke — a pause — a look at the cleared strip — the next stroke.

The foam disappeared bit by bit, and with it went the last shadow of hair.

The right side of her head grew more and more uniform. Where there had recently been stubble, now there was nothing — only skin, unusually exposed to light and air.

Mila ran her palm from temple to ear and lingered there for a moment.

Then she moved to the left side.

Here she worked more calmly. The razor moved from the temple upward, then came back a little lower, taking another strip of foam. Sometimes Mila changed the angle to get an awkward spot, and each time she watched closely how the surface of her head changed.

She spent the longest on the crown.

Short, precise strokes gradually cleared the space from forehead to nape. Mila kept checking the result with her fingers, as if she still wasn’t used to the fact that her hand no longer met the slightest resistance.

She had to shave the back of her head with it tilted sharply forward. The razor moved from bottom to top. A few final strokes — and even there, nothing remained.

Mila straightened up and wiped away the last of the foam.

For a few seconds she went still.

The room was quiet. Only the light from the lamps reflected off her completely bare head.

She looked at the screen.

No short hairs, no dark patches — everything was gone. Her face in the frame seemed almost unfamiliar, and her head itself had taken on an unfamiliar, smooth shape.

Mila slowly raised both hands.

Her palms passed over the crown, moved down to the temples, slid back to the nape. Now nothing interrupted the motion. She repeated it once more — slower this time, as if trying to relearn the feeling for herself.

A shiver ran across her skin.

Mila laughed quietly to herself, but didn’t look away from the screen. She kept stroking her head for a few more seconds, forgetting about the camera. There was no longer anything performative in the gesture — more surprise at her own reflection, and a strange sense of finality.

Finally she lowered her hands.

She looked straight into the lens and said quietly:

“That’s it. Completely smooth now.”

Then Mila stopped the recording.

The next morning, she received another letter from the anonymous sender.

“You’ve done well now. Keep your head perfectly smooth and regularly post shaving videos, and your account will keep working.”

Chapter 5.

Four months passed. Regular head-shaving became the foundation of Mila’s content. She hadn’t known such a fetish existed before this, but suddenly realized how much demand there was for it. Her subscriber count grew several times over. Her monthly subscription income was enough that she no longer had to worry about money. And she didn’t even have to add erotic content. Simply shaving her head was enough. Sometimes she was asked to film in the bathroom, and she carefully balanced the degree of nudity, never going beyond artistic nude.

Her modeling career was slowly picking back up. The agency had been shocked by the change in her appearance but hadn’t cut ties with her. Her new portfolio drew interest from extravagant projects and from those who needed to grab an audience’s attention quickly through shock value. It now seemed to her that there were even slightly more bookings, though she still couldn’t seriously earn a living from modeling.

Her feelings toward the anonymous sender were mixed. On one hand, the abuse of power, the blackmail, and the violence done to her appearance filled her with hatred and disgust. His ban on growing her hair back, under threat of the account being blocked, still hung over her. On the other hand, it had allowed her to find a niche that provided a stable income, and giving that up now by growing her hair back wasn’t part of her plans.
