Author list?

I have no idea how involved creating this might be, but would there be a way to create a category list of sorts that lists authors by name, which would then lead to the author’s individual listing of stories (just like clicking on the author name does now)?

There are several authors whose work I love, but I can never remember the exact spelling of their names. Having an alphabetical list to look through would help me find their stories when they don’t have one on the “recent” submission list.

Good idea! This feature does already exist to an extent.

If you go to: https://www.hairstorynetwork.com/stories/ and then click on the Author title it sorts the table by the Author’s name.

We could maybe go one step further and have a dedicated page for this.

Thank you — I feel like having pages dedicated to letters might make it easier to find, in the sense that I might think, “I know it started with an F….” and could go to a page of F authors and find the name there, rather than scrolling through all of stories.

But again, I don’t know how much work is involved in that, so it just might be easier to ask people to search names that way rather than set up new pages. (I think my main inconveniences happen when I’m using the site on my phone — it’s quite simple and straightforward on a desktop/laptop.)

Hi Klaatu, I’ve put a page in place which shows an author list with links to a dedicated author page. This can be refined over time but should do what you want for the moment.

I can’t tell you how often I find myself trying to remember “that story” by “some author… I think it began with a ‘G’…”
