This isn’t a traditional story, but on the off-chance other members of this site would find it interesting, Herosquest is an Instagram account that’s presented as a typical Instagram-influencer’s site, only the subjects are a barbie doll, her partner, and occasionally their friends and family. The main character started off with waist-length hair a few years ago, and had a running subplot of whether she’d ever get the guts to cut it short — which she eventually did. She’s even buzzed it a few times since, but currently is growing it out…
So, if you view it as both a satire of these types of accounts, as well as an ongoing hairstyle story, it can be an interesting watch. Whoever is behind the account really goes out of the way to make everything look good, from the various hairstyles to the outdoor shoots in an effort to get the perspectives right and stuff.
