The Cutting Room
ParticipantHi guys!
I would like to point out the author “Joy” is overwhelming the site with stories that are random and often repetitive. It’s getting overwhelming and it’s not even well written. I cant read them at all without cringing and just leaving, and it’s overwhelming the new stories by other people.
At this point, I think they are writing to write and not formating it, possibly using AI.

ChechakoParticipantAgreed.
This just clutters up the feed, making it harder to see higher-quality content.
I’m not against using AI(I use it myself), but there have to be limits.18th December 2025 at 1:34 pm #71660The Cutting Room
ParticipantThey are overusing AI and not making sure there’s quality in how it’s written. It’s just a mess. I use AI to fill in tiny details, but I have my base ideas. it’s used to edit the story.

ChechakoParticipantYou are right. And to be honest, I don’t quite understand how Joy even uses AI, because nowadays any generator can produce a fairly coherent text.
Perhaps it would make sense to implement some kind of author rating system with a dynamic monthly reduction. This system would restrict the ability to post more than 6 stories per month to the site if the author’s average rating falls below a certain threshold.
On one hand, this would support authors whose stories are well-received by readers, without imposing limits on them. On the other hand, newcomers would have the opportunity to start, build their rating, or simply stick to a monthly quota, which in my opinion is quite generous.
Right now, we’re just seeing the first signs of this. We’ll likely start encountering the “Joy phenomenon” more frequently soon.

InactiveIf we’re ranked by quality and reader rating that’s me fucked :p

ParticipantYou’re able to form a coherent sentence, and JOY’s simply not
I don’t want to gatekeep, but I do have to agree with the arguments above. Regardless of whether they use AI or not (I personally don’t think they do), this author posted 16 stories in the past week alone, with only ~500 words each. That’s not quality writing or an streak of inspiration, it’s slop.

ChechakoParticipantIn general, from the issue with Joy (and similar authors), two main points can be distinguished:
1. THERE ARE TOO MANY OF THEM: The solution is already in place: the main page has an option for “no more than 3 stories per author.”
2. STORY QUALITY.
Only a rating system can fix this, with voting allowed exclusively for users who have passed a CAPTCHA (this will prevent automated vote manipulation).
Authors who fail to achieve the required rating will be restricted in publishing stories (for example, to no more than 6 per month — in my opinion, this is already a fairly high number; 1–2 stories per week is a good output, and I’m confident that quality content will receive positive feedback, so authors shouldn’t have issues with their rating).21st December 2025 at 3:10 pm #71723The Cutting Room
ParticipantThey continue to post almost twice daily. It’s getting frustrating

ParticipantI have wanted to remain silent on this issue as I have been warned off in the past for “gate-keeping”, “witch-hunting”, or whatever the latest terminology is to report individuals who wish to work against the best interests of this site.
However, I would like to say that I fully agree with the comments by all contributors to this thread regarding “joy” although, no doubt, it will be me and not “joy” who will be reprimanded.
It is unfair, and can serve no purpose, for the users of this site to be subjected to multiple posts each day of ill-conceived, ungrammatical, misspelt, and poorly presented loose collections of words that “joy” is permitted to inflict upon us.
Yes, I can and I do ignore them now, as much as I can, even when the crude and ugly titles are in direct juxtaposition with my own modest stories, and those of the authors I enjoy reading.
I was relieved that one month ago when I reported that “joy” was writing stories that had frequent reference to sexual encounters involving minors, the moderators acted quickly and removed those that had been posted at that time. I am surprised and disappointed that no action has been taken subsequently.
As I have said many times previously, I have appreciated all the time and effort that the owner and moderators have put into this site in the past, and I have actively supported them when others have done them a disservice.
However, sadly, I now fear for the site’s future.
Yours regretfully (for having put my head above the parapet and for feeling the need to have done so),

InactiveI am in agreement with you.
I tried reading on of JOY’s stories to see what all the fuss was about and felt like I was having a stroke. I lasted two lines before giving up.
JOY’s stories are not “poorly written” or “low quality” but unadulterated dog shit and have no place here.24th December 2025 at 2:33 am #71799SK
ParticipantI’m not sure how welcome my input is, given that outside a few comments and up-votes here and there, I really haven’t contributed to this site. I do appreciate all of you who publish quality stories here, and really hope you are able to continue. JOY’s content is not even at the level of a first draft. Seeing several “stories” from this individual is a bit draining, actually. I don’t bother to click on those any more, but JOY’s posts do bury the work of regulars and new writers who have something to say and that can’t bode well for this site. I hope those who are running this site are aware of what is going on an do something about it. I don’t want to see our better writers discouraged and those of us who have read and appreciated their work also become discouraged. I fear that is what is now starting to happen.

ParticipantPersonally, SK, I find your input extremely welcome and I thank you for taking the time to show your support from the readers’ perspective.
Even with all the “clutter” (or D**S*** as JDSD so eloquently and accurately describes it!), my own stories still appear not to do too badly with the readers… thanks everyone. However, I feel most disappointed for all the enthusiastic and genuine new authors that keep us more established authors on our toes! I have been supportive of several – both publicly and privately – and we really don’t want or need their enthusiasm to be hindered or lost.

ParticipantI’ll add my two cents. I agree that certain authors are overposting, and relegating good content to page two faster and faster each day. I have tried reading some of the stories and don’t make it to the end.
I write stories more for me than anyone one else. I enjoy sharing them, but the real “joy” is in putting my thoughts in writing. What motivates Joy? Is it the writing or that they think people enjoy these poorly written stories? If Joy is writing for themselves then perhaps they could use the site as a repository for their stories but keep them all in draft form. If Joy is writing these stories because they think we enjoy them then we need to let Joy know that we don’t, but in a respectful way that won’t discourage them from trying to do better.

InactiveI will say this – mods, if you want help, let me know, and I will happily join the team. Moaning is one thing, doing something about it a different matter. What can I do to help?
It doesn’t really matter what motivates JOY. If I go into a nice bookshop, throw all the books on the floor, piss on the magazines and rub my arse against the window, because I think people will enjoy it, should I be allowed to continue?
No, I would get thrown out, and there would be a picture of me behind the counter captioned “Do not serve this man who looks like Jeffrey Dahmer”.
It is exactly the same principle.

ParticipantI am cautiously optimistic after this recent post, and I applaud their humility in admitting they were wrong.
My name is joy, i never wrote stories before, so am know trying to learn how to write. So i will try to write better so my stories are better to make story writing better.Something i should of study more. After seeing a lot of readers reading from a stories, i thought i was doing everything correct getting so many readers, i went into a writing spree . But, i must omit i was wrong, so i will read more into how to write stories better . I never learn to write stories in high school, so writing is a new thing to me. So i will regroup and try to learn how to. Merry Christmas to all and all a good night. SEE YOU NEXT YEAR!!!!
However, “joy” did not know how bad their stories were and that frustration amongst the community as they were posted too frequently. Unfortunately, by the site “house rules”, only the (absent) site owner and moderators are permitted to provide such feedback to authors, and contributors must inform them using this forum, and we did…
