No, not quite that Ginger, but in the wedding segment you have most of the elements to make the story far more topical in relation to the threat to gay marriage. But, it would mean reworking or perhaps fine-tuning other areas of the story along slightly different lines. Of course, if you’re not up to it, then that’s that.

Ginger are you still interested in suggestions from the peanut gallery about ways of tightening this story? What I’ve seen that I would edit if it were my story are the occasional redundancy and an over abundance of prepositions. It appears you’re contemplating a deeper level of editing though.
This is a good and I think important story that I hope you don’t abandon. You touch on so many important things from the horrible early life of Michael to the dangers of being connected that I for one would like to see it known to a much wider audience than it has here.

I realise that you probably aren’t too keen on working with someone you don’t know and I won’t be free to do much for a couple of weeks anyway and even then, I’ll have less than one spare week until September.

What I’m trying to get across is that this story is more than just a good read or a fun, sexy, little story.

I hope I’m not intruding here, but I have to say that I’m astonished at the hullabaloo over what is in fact quite a witty little story. I laughed out loud a number of times while reading it and I found myself chuckling over parts of it while going about my daily routine all last week. I was planing to add this to the comments section of the story yesterday, but when I saw that Ginger had taken most of the comments down, I decided against it. Then, I had the bright idea of checking the Forum and have been debating with myself all day about posting it here.

The comments I made about Girl Friday, were intended to express my appreciation of Stacey’s work in general and this story in particular, nothing else. As to the circus that sprung-up in the wake of the first three comments to Girl Friday, I can for the moment find but one explanation, however improbable it may seem: last Monday was the Full Moon and things often get weird around that time. Of course we could go into the question of being a Free Thinker in a Politically Correct world, but I prefer the Full Moon theory.

My sincere condolences to you Ginger. I don’t want to be presumptuous but I have the feeling your story Fifty, may have been written to help you deal with this possible loss. No comment is necessary and if I’m intruding, I apologise.
