It was New Year’s Eve in Bangalore, and Saniya’s luxury apartment in Indiranagar shimmered with soft lighting, cushions scattered on the floor, and music playing in the background. Sani, as her friends called her, had invited her four besties for a private girls-only night out. No boys, no drama—just the five of them, as wild and free as they wanted to be.

Surabhi—“Suru” to the gang—arrived first, quiet but with a naughty smile. Then came Supriya, their bubbly, unstoppable chatterbox—”Supu” to everyone. Sanvi, the gentle nurse, followed, wearing a simple kurta and eyes full of calm mystery. Sarika, aka “Saru,” barged in last, gym bag still hanging from her shoulder, energy bursting through the door.

Glasses clinked. Bottles opened. Laughter echoed as wine turned into shots and shots into secrets. One by one, their usual filters dissolved. Sani leaned back against the bean bag, swirling her glass. “You girls ever had a weird fantasy? Like… dark, secret types?” Supu giggled. “Aiyyo! You’re drunk, Sani.”

“I’m serious,” Sani smirked. “Something you never told anyone?” Saru raised her eyebrow. “Okay okay. I’ll go first.” She pointed at the ceiling like making a confession. “I wanna shave someone’s head. Full clean. Like razor bald.”

Everyone burst into laughter—but then paused when they saw she wasn’t joking. “I’m serious, re! Imagine that power…” Saru whispered. Sure chuckled. “I work in a parlor… I’ve shaved aunties and kids. But doing it to a best friend?” She bit her lip.

Supu leaned forward. “I always wanted a short boy cut. Proper clipper-style. Like tomboy.” “Wah!” Saru clapped. “That suits you, Supu!” Sanvi was quiet. Her fingers played with her braid. “Enikku orikkalum… I mean, I’ve always wanted to feel how it is to be bald. But I never said it.” Her voice was a whisper, her cheeks flushed. The room went silent for a moment.

Sani got up and stretched. “Then why don’t we do it tonight?” she grinned. “We have booze, clippers, a stylist friend, and madness. Let’s make this night unforgettable.” Sure blinked. “Ayyappa… you’re not joking.” “I have everything in my bathroom. Clippers, razors, foam. Full set. You girls ready or what?” And just like that, the room turned electric. Supu went first. She sat on a high stool, heart pounding but thrilled. “Do it quick, Sure.”

Sure tied the cape around her, plugged in the clippers, and without a warning—zzzzzz!—ran them right from Supu’s forehead back. The thick, frizzy hair fell in chunks. The girls screamed and laughed. In minutes, Supu sported a crisp, masculine boycut. She rubbed her scalp, beaming. “Yenna look! Na romba cute!” Next was Sanvi. The soft-spoken Malayali girl walked to the chair slowly. “No turning back?” she asked, her voice trembling. Saru patted her. “You’ll look stunning.”

Surabhi coated Sanvi’s head in foam while Sarika readied the razor. Strip by strip, Sanvi’s silky hair was gone. The razor glided clean over her scalp, and under the soft lights, Sanvi looked radiant—like rebirth. She touched her head and smiled through tears. “Idhu vere level feeling,” she whispered. Saru sat down next. “Suru! My turn. Buzz cut with clean back and sides, please!”

Surabhi switched to clippers with a guard and zipped through Sarika’s thick, dark hair, leaving just enough to make her look bold and raw. The back and sides were lathered, and Sure used a straight razor to clean them. Saru looked in the mirror and winked. “Nuvvu champesav!”

Then Sani sat, folding her hair into a bun. “Medium boycut. Nothing fancy, Sure.” Suru worked her magic again, clipping Sani’s hair into a stylish boycut, sharp around the edges, textured on top. “Now this is rich girl rebel vibe,” laughed Supu. Finally, all eyes turned to Suru. “Come on,” said Sarika, holding the razor.

“You’re the only one left.” Surabhi hesitated, heart racing. “I’ve always been behind the chair… never here.” “Tonight, you sit here,” Sani whispered. Sure sat down, breath shallow. Her long braid was opened, combed slowly by Saru. “You ready, kanna?” Sure closed her eyes. “Ready.” Zzzzzzz… The sound echoed.

Sarika took the clippers and drove them straight down the center of Suru’s head. Thick waves of hair fell like silk. Sarika grinned wickedly as she lathered Suru’s scalp and shaved it clean, lovingly, gently. The process was intimate—slow, sensual, thrilling.

When she stood up, Surabhi was bald. Glowing. Beautiful. The five girls stood before the mirror—buzzed, bald, boycut beauties. They hugged, screamed, and danced wildly. Sani raised a toast. “To dark desires, friendship, and bald heads!”

The next morning, the girls woke up with slight hangovers but big smiles, staring at each other’s bald and cropped heads. What was once a night of wild fantasy had become an unspoken healing—they had let go of fear and embraced something raw and freeing. Their hearts, once heavy with hidden desires, now felt light and strangely proud. They clicked group selfies, laughed at each other’s reflections, and promised to never forget this night.

The next day at work, heads turned. Supriya’s students were shocked, but she laughed it off, calling it her “new year gift.” Sanvi’s hospital staff admired her boldness; some even called her brave. Sarika walked into the gym like a queen, her buzzed head earning her admiration. Saniya’s office gossip started but quickly shifted to praise for her fierce new style. And Surabhi, now bald and glowing, walked into her salon with quiet confidence—clients stared, but she only smiled, knowing she had finally lived her truth.
