Warm Welcome at the Door

It was a quiet Saturday evening in Bengaluru. In a small independent house tucked between older buildings, Soniya was busy in her kitchen, cooking dinner. Her hair was tied in a loose messy bun, strands falling over her face as she moved quickly between the stove and the counter. The smell of jeera rice and paneer curry filled the air. She was nervous, but there was a smile on her face. Tonight, he was coming. The doorbell rang. She quickly wiped her hand on a cloth and walked to the door.

Still holding a spatula in her other hand. Her black saree hugged her softly, and the deep red blouse brought out the glow in her skin. As she opened the door, her eyes paused for a moment. Abhishek was standing there, dressed simply in a black shirt and jeans, a small smile on his face. “Hi,” he said, looking at her with clear admiration. “You look… beautiful.” She blinked, taken aback for a second. “You really came,” she said, her voice a little low, a little shy. “Of course,” he replied, stepping inside. “Kya tumhe laga main nahi aata?”

The door closed behind, Abhishek looked around noticing the warm lights, the quiet music playing in the background, and the strong smell of home-cooked food. Soniya tried to stay calm, but her heart was racing. She wasn’t used to this — a man coming over, making her feel seen. “I hope you’re hungry, Everything’s almost done.” Abhishek came closer, watching her. “I’m more excited to see you than the food,” he said, his tone soft. She didn’t turn.

But he noticed the slight shake in her hand and the way her lips curved into a small smile. Dinner was quiet but warm. Abhishek sat at the small dining table as Soniya served him, “You really made all this?” he asked with surprise. She nodded shyly, brushing back a loose strand from her face. “I love cooking,” she said, sitting opposite him. “Especially when someone actually appreciates it.” He smiled, romantically. Later, they sat in the living room, cushions scattered on the floor with soft music played in the background.

Abhishek leaned back, relaxed, while Soniya sat cross-legged, adjusting the pleats of her saree. “You always keep your hair tied?” he asked, voice gentle. She looked down, then smiled faintly. “Yeah… habit. I don’t do much with it. Just bun or braid.” He nodded slowly, eyes still on her. “It’s beautiful. Long, thick… you should let it breathe sometimes.” Her fingers touched the back of her bun unconsciously. “I don’t know… I’ve never had someone say that before.” Abhishek leaned in a little. “Then let me be the first,” he said softly. “Shal I open it?”

Relaxed Moment in Warm Elegance

She didn’t answer right away. Then she gave a small nod. Abhishek moved closer behind her. With careful fingers, he slipped the clip and pins out of her messy bun. Her long curls fell down, brushing against her back. The scent of her hair hit him, He ran his hands gently into her scalp, his fingertips rubbing small circles. She sighed quietly, eyes closed, her shoulders dropping with every stroke. No words passed between them for a long time. She leaned back slightly, trusting, resting her head on his laps.

His fingers continued to move in her hair, slow and caring. That moment didn’t ask for permission. It just existed. Soniya stayed still under his touch, her eyes closed, her head tilted gently into Abhishek’s lap as his fingers moved through her open hair. Her breathing was even, but there was something different in it… something heavy, not from pleasure, but from memory. “You’re the first person,” she said softly, “who has touched my hair without trying to punish me.” Abhishek paused for a second,

his fingers resting against her scalp. “What do you mean?” he asked gently, his voice low, not pressing. Soniya opened her eyes slowly but didn’t lift her head. Her gaze stayed on the ceiling fan as it spun slowly above them. “You said my hair is beautiful… but for ten years, it was something I was forced to lose.” “I was twenty when I got married,” she began, her voice soft but steady. “Ali was twice my age. Military man. Cold, harsh. I thought he’d be strict… but he was something else.”

Her hand clutched the pallu of her saree tighter around her waist. “He used to come home only once a month. No conversation. No affection. Just orders. On our first anniversary… I cooked dinner. I wanted it to feel special. A small strand of my hair had fallen into the rice. I didn’t even notice.” Her voice cracked slightly. “He threw the plate. Took me by the wrist, dragged me to the bedroom. I thought he’d hit me. But instead, he pulled my saree off in rage, sat me on the bed, and brought scissors.”

She stopped. Abhishek’s fingers had gone still. She continued, her voice lower now. “He cut chunks of my hair off… angry, silent. Then brought a razor. No water. No oil. Dry shave. I bled.” Her throat trembled but she kept speaking. “He shaved me bald that night. Said women like me don’t deserve to keep long hair. Every month after that, when he came home, the first thing he did was check if my hair had grown. If it had, he shaved it again.

Intimate Care in Soft Light

Sometimes he used scissors, sometimes blades. He would sit me in front of the mirror. Make me watch. And if I cried… he’d slap the back of my head after it was smooth.” Her hand went to her scalp unconsciously, fingers brushing through her thick curls now. “Slowly, my body got used to it. No more tears. No more shock. Just numbness. I used to feel the razor scraping my scalp and think… maybe this is what I deserve.” There was silence in the room. A silence that understood her pain.

Abhishek bent slowly, his lips brushing the crown of her head, soft filled with love. “You didn’t deserve that,” he whispered, his palm cupping the side of her head gently. She let out a deep breath—like she’d been holding it in for years. “Three years ago, he died,” she said finally. “Road accident. Military truck flipped. They called me to identify his body.” Her fingers gripped Abhishek’s wrist where he touched her hair. “Since then, I’ve been growing it again. Slowly…” The night had grown quiet.

They were both lying on her bed now. Soniya was on her side, her head resting on Abhishek’s arm, His other hand occasionally drifted into her hair, still open and slightly damp from the earlier oiling. “Can I ask you something?” She hummed. “If it wasn’t out of punishment… would you ever shave your head again? Just for yourself?” Soniya chuckled softly. “What a strange question to ask a woman in bed,” she said, looking at him. He smirked. “Only strange if you’re boring.” She shook her head.“I don’t know… maybe. But not out of fear.

It would have to be… something else. Liberating, maybe. Or intimate.” Abhishek shifted closer. “I think it’d suit you. You’ve got that face… strong jawline, intense eyes. You’d look like some Beauty queen.” Soniya raised a brow. “Stop it. I’ll end up dreaming I’m Sonali Bendre tonight.” He laughed. “That’s still better than dreaming you’re Anupam Kher.” She burst out laughing, covering her mouth, and buried her face into his chest. “You idiot,” she mumbled playfully. “I’ll shave your head in your sleep now.”

He grinned, wrapping his arm tighter around her waist. “Only if I get to shave yours first. ha ha?” She looked up, eyes teasing. “You sure you won’t freak out when your girlfriend turns into a glowing light bulb?” He leaned down, forehead brushing hers. “As long as you’re my glowing bulb, main khush hoon.” Their bodies had gotten closer now, naturally, without planning it. Her fingers traced slow lines over his shirt as his hand gently played with a strand of her hair. “So…” she whispered, eyes soft,

“if I ever let you shave me… you’d do it carefully?” Abhishek smiled, voice suddenly quieter. “Carefully… slowly… with both hands.” Soniya blushed, biting her lower lip. “Both hands, haan?” He nodded, eyes dark. “Scalp massage included. No extra charge sachme.” She laughed again, this time softer, almost shy. Soniya looked up at him, her eyes serious now, all laughter tucked beneath a fragile calm. “I love you, Abhishek,” she said softly. “Not because you’re kind. Not because you touched my hair like no one else.

But because for the first time, I feel like a woman again… not a shadow.” Abhishek’s throat tightened, but he held her gaze. “But how will you face the world?” he asked gently. “My parents? The age gap i am 20 and you are 30? The way people talk?” Soniya smirked, lifting herself slightly on her elbow. “Let them talk. I’ve been bald in front of mirrors and monsters. You think aunty’s glare scares me?” He laughed, but his eyes were wet. “And living with me? You sure you’re ready for that madness?” She leaned in, her nose almost touching his.

“Baby, I survived a man who forced shaved my head every month. I can survive your laundry pile.” Abhishek chuckled, then went quiet, his hand slipping into hers. “Then will you… stay with me? Be mine—publicly, privately, fully?” Soniya’s fingers tightened around his. She didn’t need to think. “Yes,” she said, simply. “Now shut up and hold me.” He pulled her into his chest, and she melted into him like she’d belonged there all along. Soniya’s hand slipped slowly up his chest, her lips brushing just under his jaw.

Her eyes weren’t asking—they were claiming. She shifted closer, her fingers tugging his shirt softly, her voice a whisper against his skin. “Can I show you how much I meant that ‘yes’?” Abhishek’s breath hitched, but he grinned, his hands holding her shoulders gently. “Wait…” he murmured, mischief lighting up his eyes. “We had a deal, remember?” She blinked, confused. “What deal?” He leaned forward, brushing her hair back, eyes locked on hers. “First head shave… then sex.” Soniya stared for a second then laughed, really laughed, pressing her forehead to his.

“You idiot, you won’t sleep tonight.” His breath caught as she pulled away, her fingers already undoing her bun, curls tumbling down like a storm was coming. The room stayed quiet, but something had already begun.” she whispered, already breathless. But she wasn’t offended—she was turned on, amused, and completely ready. The room was thick with hunger now. And this time, it wasn’t about pain. It was about surrender.
