Elena Meets Her Ex’s Step-Father
Act – I
When Elena stepped off the rickety bus into the dusty heat of her hometown, she felt a wave of resignation settle in her chest. The city had promised dreams, offered sparks, and then smothered them out with bills and layoffs. She was twenty-seven, broke, and drifting. Her Aunt Mira’s creaky two-bedroom house at the edge of town was the only place that still had a bed for her—and patience.
Aunt Mira welcomed her with a soft hug, and no questions asked. After all, this was her hometown, where she had grown up and done her schooling, although most of her friends were either married or had moved out.
Elena knew she needed a job. She couldn’t keep living off her aunt’s dwindling savings. She didn’t need much for herself — a few clean dresses, cheap meals, a warm blanket. But her hair was another matter.
It fell in glossy chestnut waves down to her hips, untouched by scissors, virgin and perfect. It was her pride and one true indulgence. On good days, she’d leave it down just to feel it sway against her waist. On bad days, she’d spend hours massaging in luxe oils and rinsing with salon-grade shampoos that smelled like orchids and rain.
Drugstore bottles were out of the question. She refused to let harsh chemicals touch those silken strands. So yes, Elena needed a job — not for herself, but for her hair. And she needed it fast.
And fate would have it, when Aunt Mira came to her with an opportunity.
Act – II
“Elena, dear, how would you consider working in a barbershop?” she asked over lunch.
Elena almost dropped her jaw. “A what?”
“Just hear me out,” Aunt Mira said with a smile. “The town barber just needs someone to answer the calls, do the books, and accounting, as he runs the shop alone. His last girl got married and moved away, so he is looking for someone.”
“Well, I have never been to a barbershop,” she said hesitantly.
“First time’s the charm.”
Elena was torn with confusion. “Umm…I don’t know, Aunt Mira. But let’s try it out until I find other options.”
“Great, I will take you there tomorrow to meet him.”
The next day dawned, and Elena chose a pretty floral summer dress, her long hair loosely braided, then pulled into a messy low bun with a few face-framing strands softening her features. She knew she was laughably overdressed for a barbershop, a space almost aggressively masculine. Yet, a quiet defiance settled in her – it was about to be her workplace, too.
‘Mark’s Barbershop’, the sign read, when she arrived.
Stepping inside with her Aunt, the air itself felt thick with a scent utterly foreign to her: a sharp, clean blend of aftershave, hot towels, and something vaguely metallic, like freshly honed blades. She felt acutely, unmistakably, like an intruder. Her gaze swept over the dark leather chairs, the gleaming chrome, the framed sports memorabilia she didn’t understand, and the first feeling that truly hit her was an overwhelming self-consciousness.
Then her eyes landed on him.
Act – III
For a second, she forgot how to breathe.
The man stood near the back, wiping down a straight razor with practiced precision. Salt-and-pepper hair, shaved close at the sides, leaving just enough on top to brush back with easy authority. He has sharp cheekbones, giving his face that chiseled look she always found unfairly attractive on older men. His mouth curved slightly, not into a smile, but into something more dangerous — something that hinted at knowing exactly what he wanted and how to get it.
Back in high school, she’d seen him a few times when picking up Noah, her ex-boyfriend, for movies. Even then, Noah’s stepfather, Mark, had been handsome in that rugged, intimidating way. But now? Age had only refined him. It made him look leaner, taller, impossibly masculine. He was a typical older male beauty, yes, but somehow more — something with gravity.
Her chest tightened as she realized the name on the sign outside hadn’t just been a coincidence.
Mark’s Barbershop.
Mark. Her ex-boyfriend’s stepfather.
The man looked up then, catching her staring. His eyes were dark and unreadable as they locked on hers, lingering in a way that made heat pool low in her belly. Elena swallowed. This was not how she imagined her first day in a job would begin.
“Mark, this is Elena, my niece,” Aunt Mira said with a smile. “Elena, this is Mark Keller, our town’s barber.”
He stepped forward, extending his hand with a sharp, professional smile. Elena swallowed, placing her hand in his with careful politeness. “Nice to meet you, Mr. Keller.”
For a moment, relief washed through her. It seemed he didn’t recognize her from all those years ago — back when she was just a shy, curvy teenager stealing glances at her boyfriend’s stepfather. Back then, she couldn’t help staring. He’d always carried himself with an effortless masculinity that made her cheeks burn.
It was a blessing he didn’t remember.
“So,” he said, slipping his hand back into his pocket, “your aunt mentioned you’re looking for work. Coincidentally, I’m looking for an assistant. Someone to handle bookings, sweep up, and keep the place in shape. I’d pay you standard wage, plus extra for overtime. What do you think, Miss Elena?”
She hesitated only a second before nodding. “Yes… I’d do it.”
His mouth curved slightly, almost like he knew exactly what she was thinking. “Great. You can start today.”
Act – IV
By the second week, she had fallen into the rhythm of the place. Men walked in, shared opinions on politics, got shaven or trimmed, and left with fresh hair and a sharp look. Elena handled appointments, updated the ledger, and restocked the oils and creams.
But it was the in-between moments that shook her.
The way his hand would brush against hers when passing the keys. The way he sometimes looked at her over the mirror with unreadable eyes. The slow, measured way he said her name.
Elena had never thought herself the kind of woman to find hair—especially men’s hair—arousing. But every time she swept up the cropped strands from the barbershop floor, a strange thrill skated down her spine. There was something so raw and vulnerable about the way men surrendered their heads to Mark’s hands, the whirr of the clippers grazing their scalps, and the way thick tufts fell like snow. It wasn’t just the intimacy of it—it was the control, the discipline, the severity of the cut.
And Mark… God, Mark was a master of it.
She caught herself watching him too often. The way he’d grip a man’s head steady with one strong hand, the clippers buzzing in the other, eyes focused like a hawk. It was power, stripped of pretension. It was Precise and Merciless. And he didn’t even know what it did to her.
Or maybe he did.
Act – V
One hot summer afternoon, the shop was quiet, and Elena was alone. Mark had just finished giving a local a high-and-tight and left for a smoke, while Elena was behind the desk.
Her eyes fell on the clippers, sitting on the counter, gleaming teeth with the plastic guard removed. Something about their cold, brutal edge made her chest tighten. It almost felt forbidden to touch, and forbidden fruits were always the sweetest. On impulse, she reached out and flicked the switch. The clippers buzzed to life, their vibration humming through her fingers. It wasn’t just the sensation in her hand — it was spreading heat across her chest, curling around her nipples until they tightened against her bra.
The pulsing thrum settled between her legs, a deep, insistent vibration that seemed to stroke her from the inside out. It was raw and electric, teasing something dark and hungry within her. She turned the clippers off abruptly, heart pounding, her skin flushed with arousal and shame.
“What are you doing?” Mark’s voice startled her.
Elena turned too fast, her heart in her throat. “Nothing,” she said too quickly, but did not let go of the clippers.
He didn’t blink. “You were feeling them.”
“I was just…cleaning.” No matter how hard she tried, the stammer in her voice gave it away.
“You weren’t.” Mark stepped closer, folding his arms, while the buzz still rang faintly in her ears. “You wanted to hold them and feel them, isn’t it?”
Mark stepped closer, almost towering over her, and clamped a hand over her wrist holding the clippers.
Elena flushed as the heat rose to her ears. “It’s just… I mean…I…”
Mark studied her with a look she couldn’t read, something between amusement and something darker. “Do you want to know how it feels?”
Elena shook her head, but the flicker in her eyes made him smirk.
“You should try it,” Mark said smoothly, plucking the clippers from her trembling hands like they’d always belonged to him.
“I don’t know… I mean…”
His head cocked to the side. “Have you ever tried short hair on yourself?”
Elena blinked. “No. God, no. I don’t think it would suit me.”
“You don’t know that.”
His voice was dipped gently, but it was the kind of gentle that left no room for argument.
“Sit,” he said, nodding toward the empty chair.
Her stomach turned over. “Mark—”
“Sit down, Elena.” This time, his tone dropped. And somehow, her knees obeyed.
Elena complied, while the silence stretched between them, humming with tension. His gaze swept over her, lingering at the ends of her thick, heavy hair as he undid the messy bun.
“It’s really long,” he said, almost to himself. “Must be exhausting to keep up with.”
“I’ve grown used to it,” she said softly.
Act – VI
“That’s only because you’ve never felt the clippers.” He paused. “But I know you’re curious. You’ve always been curious.”
Elena gave a shaky laugh. “No, it’s not—”
He leaned down, whispering in her ears. “You were intrigued even back then. A decade ago.” His voice went darker and slower now. “You couldn’t stop touching Noah’s hair after I cut it—how you’d run your fingers over the nape, over the bristles, even though the boy had fought me like hell to keep his hipster mop.”
Her lips parted. “You knew… you knew me?”
Mark brushed a strand from her cheek. “From the moment you walked in through that door, I recognized you. But I’d let you play along, little girl.”
A tremor ran down her spine.
“Oh,” she breathed, just as he flung the cape around her shoulders and snapped it closed at the neck. Elena stiffened. “Mr. Keller… I don’t think—”
“How about I show you what you’re afraid to even imagine?”
He grabbed her hair by the bunch, yanking her head back just enough to make her breath hitch. “Close your eyes, Elena,” he whispered near her ear. “And don’t open them until I say so.”
Elena hesitated, but just as his fist tightened and he growled. “Do it.”
Act – VII
She had no choice but to obey. The feeling is oddly erotic—being immobilized like that. Elena felt the sudden tug and then the clean, unmistakable shhnk of scissors slicing through the length. The way he held the hair taut, she did not know how much hair she was losing, but she knew with absolute certainty that he would not settle for less.
“You can open your eyes now,” Mark said, granting her permission like a master indulging a pet.
Elena’s lashes fluttered open. The reflection that met her gaze was both a shock and a strange, dark thrill. “Oh God,” she whispered. “It’s so… short.”
Her hair, once cascading down her back, now barely grazed the nape of her neck. And in Mark’s fist was the thick, severed braid that had once been her pride. He looked at it with something close to disdain, then let it drop to the floor without a second thought, like it meant nothing.
And the worst part? Her body betrayed her. Her thighs pressed together, desperate for friction. She didn’t know what unsettled her more: the humiliation… or the raw, undeniable pleasure curling low in her belly because of it.
Elena hurried to rise, to escape, but the barber was faster. His hands gripped her shoulders, firm and possessive, dragging her back into the chair with ease.
“Ah-ah,” he shook his head. “I’ve barely started, girl.”
“I’m going to give you two choices, Elena,” he told her, still holding her down. “One, you will be a good girl and ask me—nicely—to cut your hair short. Then you lower that pretty head for me, and you let me work. Or…”
He leaned in close, his warm breath grazing her ear. “You keep playing defiant. And keep pretending you didn’t lie to me. And then you’ll learn exactly what I do to bad girls who test me.”
A beat of silence pulsated, thick with heat.
“What’s it going to be, Elena?”
Elena waited, her breath shallow, her heart pounding so loudly it drowned out rational thoughts. She couldn’t move. Her mind had surrendered long ago—somewhere between the heat in his voice and the grip of his hand. Now, her body was running on something far more primal. God help her…she wanted to be undone, ruined, and exposed. But she couldn’t bring herself to say it.
“I don’t… I don’t want short hair,” she whispered, even though they both knew she’d already lost the right to protest.
Mark chuckled low, deep, and knowing. “Exactly what I thought.”
Before she knew it, a firm yank pulled her head back, baring her throat to him, and her mouth parted on instinct.
“Normally,” he murmured, brushing his lips near her temple, “I’d make you watch as I take your hair, I’d force you to stare into the mirror as I stripped away every ounce of vanity you ever clung to, but not today.”
With a twist, he turned her chair away from the mirror, and the sudden loss of reflection sent a fresh wave of nerves through her. “You don’t get to see yourself until I’m done. And believe me, Elena…” His tone darkened, a promise etched in steel.
“It’s going to take time.”
Act – VIII
Then his hand clamped down on the back of her head, forcing her forward until her chin was touching her chest. The pressure wasn’t just firm—it was punishing, calculated, and meant to remind her exactly where she stood.
And yet… something inside her clenched at the act of surrender.
And then—Whrrr.
The clippers roared to life. Elena braced herself for the destruction, but nothing could ever prepare her for the most terrifying, thrilling thing of all.
Mark guided the clippers from the nape upward, slow and relentless, before angling away just shy of the crown. Pass after pass, the blades buzzed with mechanical hunger, each swipe deliberate, each vibration crawling over Elena’s skin and sinking deep beneath it. She felt everything—every pull, every tremor—echoing from her scalp all the way down to her curling toes. And still, the hair fell. Thick, silken lengths tumbled around her, hitting her arms, her lap, the floor.
She felt it happening.
The exposed skin at the back of her head grew with every stroke. Then Mark pressed her head to the side—firm, controlling, guiding the clippers up the side of her scalp, higher than she expected, high enough to bare the delicate curve of her ears.
Elena gasped. She wasn’t just being cut. She was being stripped. And he was enjoying it.
Mark folded her ear down with calculated care, running the clippers over and over again, even when it was already bare. It wasn’t about precision anymore—it was about letting her feel just how naked she was becoming.
When he was satisfied that the back and sides had been reduced to a faint shadow, he grabbed a fistful of the still-long hair on top and yanked her head upright.
“Look at you,” he teased. “Half-shorn and helpless. It’s cute, in a pathetic kind of way.”
She flinched—but she didn’t pull away. Mark set the clippers down and picked up the scissors, lifting them to her crown. He slid the blades through the remaining hair—just an inch or so from her scalp—and snip, severed what little pride she had left.
“I saw you staring at the flattops and crewcuts,” he murmured, in between the snips. “You loved how short I’d cut them. And you… you’d look utterly ridiculous in one.”
Another lock hit the floor. “And I think that’s exactly why you want it.”
Flattop…is that what he was aiming for? Elena thought.
Act – IX
“But I have a better idea,” Mark interjected her thoughts. He let the scissors fall with a dull clatter and flicked the clippers on again. The hum was louder now, more final. Before Elena could speak, he gripped the back of her head and forced it forward, pressing her crown to meet the chattering blades.
The realization hit her—he wasn’t just cutting her short. He was going to shave her bald. And there was nothing she could do to stop him.
The clippers carved through the top with ruthless efficiency, leaving short tufts tumbling down her cheeks, onto her lap, and across the floor. Each pass made her scalp more bare, more exposed. Mark didn’t rush. He took his time, methodical and calm, until only a narrow oval-shaped grainy texture remained—barely more than a shadow crowning her otherwise naked scalp.
He switched off the clippers and set them aside. His hand slid over her head, rough fingertips grazing the stubble at her sides, circling the back, pressing into the buzzed skin and relishing her torment. She shivered at the touch—half-comforted, half-terrified. She was bald…really bald.
Elena reached up instinctively to feel it herself, but he slapped her hand away with a sharp tsk.
“Hands down, or I’ll strap you down.”
“Isn’t it over?” she asked dejectedly.
“You’ll be done when I say you’re done.”
She felt the warm lather next, thick, creamy, and deliberate as he massaged it into her scalp. She had watched him do this countless times to his clients, and she knew the outcome, too.
His grip tightened around her skull, tilting it this way and that. The straight razor followed, sliding across her skin with unnerving grace. He stretched the skin taut before every stroke, and he’d shaved her twice, once with the grain, then again against it—erasing any trace of hair. By the time he finished, her scalp gleamed like polished marble.
“Ready to see yourself?” he asked, already turning the chair.
She barely had time to brace. And then—
Elena’s breath caught. The woman staring back wasn’t familiar. Her once-luxurious hair was gone, replaced by a gleaming, glass-smooth scalp with a harsh strip of hair left like an island at the top. It was one of those brutal, military haircuts. It was humiliating to cut itself for a man, and she—a woman in her prime—was forced to wear it. And she looked ridiculous.
“This is what I do to bad girls, Elena,” Mark said smugly. “Now you understand.”
Her voice trembled. “I thought I was going to be bald…”
He smiled without warmth. “This isn’t bald. This is a symbol of my ownership. Every inch of you is owned.”
He stepped closer, fingertips gliding possessively over the raw skin of her scalp.
“Every week, I will shave your head down to the skin,” he said, his voice dropping into something rough. “And you will comply, without complaint, excuse, or a whimper from your lips.”
He released her and then stepped toward her, close enough that she could feel the heat radiating from his body, and the weight of his gaze crawling over her bare scalp like a brand.
“And now,” he continued with a heavy tone, “you’re going to walk into the back room. You’re going to take off every stitch of clothing you have left. Then you’re going to bend over the bench and stay there.”
His hand came up, brushing the side of her breasts.
“You will remain in that position, completely exposed, until I decide to come for you.”
Fantastic story… loved it.
I love your stories! Could you do one where you shave your eyebrows too?
Thank you, John.
Thanks, Bella, for your suggestion. 🙂 The next story will have one.
