It was a slow, sunny Friday afternoon in Delhi. For Radha and Yashwanth, it was extra special. Their two kids had gone to Radha’s maternal home for the summer holidays, giving the couple four full days to themselves after what felt like ages. No school runs, no cartoon sounds blaring from the TV — just the two of them. Yashwanth had brewed two strong cups of coffee and joined Radha on their big beige sofa. Both were wearing matching pullovers — a habit Radha never outgrew — and she sat cross-legged in her comfy shorts, leaning onto him.

With the house unusually quiet, they cuddled into each other like they used to before marriage, when love had no schedule and time felt infinite. Their casual chat soon drifted into old memories — the first time they met at a cousin’s wedding, those endless phone calls, their awkward proposal under the rain. Radha laughed, saying, “You were such a hero back then, full of attitude but always messaging me after jagada.” Yashwanth grinned and replied, “Tu bhi kam nahi thi… you used to cry one minute and demand ice cream the next.”

They chuckled, shoulders touching, eyes soft. Radha ran her fingers over his thick beard, then up into his long hair, noticing how sweaty his nape looked. “Yashu, seriously… it’s too hot yaar. You should go for a summer cut. This long hair and beard might suit the winter, but now…?” She didn’t want the beard gone though. “Just trim the beard okay? Not full clean shave, mujhe pasand hai yeh look,” she added, giving his chin a playful squeeze. Yashwanth stretched a little, sipped his coffee, and said thoughtfully,

“You know what? Let’s go together to the salon this weekend. We’ll both get haircuts. Tu bhi trim karwale… radhu?” Radha smirked and flicked her hair dramatically. “Hello? My hair is already shorter than yours,” she teased. “If I go any shorter, you’ll run away from me, baba.” He laughed and pulled her closer. “Arre nahi baba, hwo ever you look Radhu will always be mine.” She rolled her eyes, smiling. “Chalo let’s see… let’s both get fresh looks, like a couple makeover. Our hairstylist will go mad seeing us together like this.”

They leaned back into the couch, planning for the next day which was special. That night, the house felt unusually quiet, Radha slipped under the sheets beside Yashwanth, resting her head on his chest. Her fingers slowly trailed down his stomach, playful and clear in intention. “Kids are gone… full privacy, Yashu,” she whispered with a naughty grin, brushing her lips near his ear. Just as she began making her move, he chuckled and gently stopped her hand. “Abe ruk ja, tomorrow is more special… 15 years, Radhu. Let’s save it for after the haircut.

Fresh look, fresh feel, fresh night,” he said with a teasing. Radha joked. “And if I come back with a sexy boy cut? Handle kar paoge?” He smirked, pulling her closer, “Bas mat kar overacting, warna kal main hi control nahi kar paunga.” They laughed under the sheets, exchanged a few kisses, and eventually drifted into sleep, tangled in each other’s arms. The salon was cool and quiet that late morning, Yashwanth sat comfortably with black cape wrapped around him, while Radha stood behind him, casually chatting with Rashmi, their trusted stylist.

“Rashmi, give him a proper buzzcut today… pura summer vibe chahiye,” Radha said with a playful smirk, brushing Yashwanth’s long locks. Rashmi laughed, “Waah Radha ji, full makeover mood today?” Yashwanth looked up at Radha with a soft smile on his face. “You really want it?” he asked, his voice low and affectionate. Radha nodded, eyes twinkling.  and she simply pressed a light kiss on his cheek. That was enough. He turned to Rashmi. “Chalo, do it. Full buzzcut. I want her to love it.” Rashmi picked up the trimmer, snapped on the no.1 guard for the top and got to work.

The gentle hum filled the air as thick strands of his hair began falling onto the cape and floor. The sides went almost bare, guardless — clean and sharp, Rashmi trimmed his beard next, shaping it neatly but keeping the length just enough. “Uff, Radha… ab sambhalo apne pati ko,” Rashmi joked as the cape came off, Yashwanth stood up, running a hand over his freshly buzzed scalp. Radha smiled as she took his place on the chair. Rashmi caped her and asking, “So, what are we doing today, radha jee? A short bob, pixie maybe?”

Radha shook her head. “Nope. Same as him.” Rashmi blinked. Yashwanth looked surprised too. “Radhu… are you sure?” She smiled, confident and flirty. “Why not? Couple cut for our anniversary. You think I can’t rock it?” Yashwanth chuckled. “Nahi baba, I’m scared I might fall for you all over again.” Rashmi parted the top section of Radha’s hair and clipped it up. With the guardless trimmer, she shaved the sides clean, Radha giggling as the cool breeze hit her bare skin. “Yashu, you better not stare at me in public now,”

she said, eyes meeting his in the mirror. “If you look this sexy, I can’t help it,” He replied. Rashmi switched to the no.1 guard and buzzed the top evenly, soft hum and her strands fell in waves on her cape. Yashwanth stood beside her now, admiring her with the same expression he had on their wedding night — pure love, a little awe, and a lot of pride. Radha got a quick burgundy color wash over her freshly buzzed top, adding a bright, edgy finish to her new look. Without wasting time, they headed straight to one of their favorite open rooftop restaurants.

At the rooftop café, Radha and Yashwanth sat close, the wind gently brushing past their fresh haircuts. They had ordered special this time – rotis, fried rice, paneer curry, and Manchurian. Radha rested her hand on her cheek, giving him a playful glare. “Still staring?” she asked, eyebrows raised. Yashwanth smirked, “I’m allowed, no? My wife’s looking like a total bomb today.” She gave a soft laugh, brushing her buzzed head, “This look na… thoda crazy lag raha but… I kinda love it.” He leaned closer, “It suits you. Mujhe toh aur bhi zyada pasand aaya.”

Radha smiled, nudging him with her elbow, “Bas karo… you’re making me blush.” Yashwanth placed his hand over hers, gently rubbing her fingers. “Fifteen years of marriage and we still feel like this… kinda cool, no?” She blushed, brushing her hair back. “Ab toh aur jaada hairstyle experiment karne ka mann ho raha… kya lagta hai, full ganja karwale?” she winked.  Yashwanth chuckled, leaning closer. “Main ready hoon. Tu karegi toh main bhi kar lunga. Imagine — dono bald, bed mein takiya ka zarurat nahi.” Radha burst out laughing, smacking his hand lightly. “Thoda control, sir.

Public jagah mein ho.”  Their laughter faded into a soft smile, the comfort between them unspoken but deeply felt. As they quietly started eating, Radha murmured, “You know, we’ve changed in so many ways… but one thing hasn’t — how easy it still feels between us.” Yashwanth nodded, eyes warm. “Bas yahi toh asli pyaar hota hai. No drama. Just… this.” Radha leaned in with a smirk, “Let’s first survive mummy’s reaction… phir sochenge.” They smiled at eachpther. “Fifteen years of love… ab kya sharam,” Yashwanth said with a soft smile.

“Tomorrow morning, the kids are gonna be shocked,” he added with a chuckle. Radha groaned, “Forget the kids… mummy will see us and I don’t even want to imagine her reaction. Scary.” They both laughed again as Yashwanth gently pulled her close and kissed her forehead. “No matter what happens… as long as you’re with me, I’m good.” Radha smiled and looked down at their hands, fingers locked. “Let’s hope we get to live like this in every janam too. Together.” With a smile, hearts full of old love and fresh hopes. Stepping into the next phase of their life — still the same team, still in love.
