This tale depicts a make-believe summer festival encounter with my Japanese partner, whom I encountered during my college years. The scenes of our summer was based on real events. We had been dating each other for one year during COVID and got along through instagram. When I settled in Tokyo, we lived together and just two months ago, we exchanged vows as husband and wife. Please enjoy my summer festival experience.
The boy’s name is Haruto and the girl’s name is Natsumi. Haruto is 7 years younger than Natsumi. Despite the age difference, they have been close friends since Haruto was a young boy. In fact, Natsumi was his teacher and his only childhood friend.
When Natsumi was 17 and Haruto was only 10 years old, she used to play with him and even take baths together. As Haruto grew older, he began to realize that he had romantic feelings for Natsumi. However, he knew that it was not appropriate to act on these feelings while she was still his teacher.
Years passed and Natsumi eventually got married at the age of 25. Haruto was upset when he found out, but he was there for her when she needed him the most. Unfortunately, Natsumi’s marriage was short-lived when she found out that her husband had cheated on her.
Haruto was there to console her and took her out to different places such as restaurants, parks, and the aquarium. He was always there for her when she needed someone to talk to. Eventually, Haruto mustered up the courage to confess his feelings to Natsumi and proposed that they start a romantic relationship.
At first, Natsumi was confused and unsure about how to respond. However, after some reflection, she realized that Haruto had always been there for her and cared deeply about her. She agreed to be his girlfriend, and they started going on dates and spending more time together. Slowly but surely, their relationship became more intimate and they started to imitate romantic scenes they had seen in movies and TV shows.
One day, Haruto invited Natsumi to a summer festival. She was hesitant at first, feeling a bit awkward about going on a date with someone who had been her student in the past. But Haruto was persistent, and eventually convinced her to go. She accepted to go to the festival.
Haruto had been looking forward to the summer festival for weeks, and he knew he wanted to invite his girlfriend, Natsumi, to go with him. Natsumi was excited to be invited and was thrilled at the idea of spending the day with Haruto at the festival.
However, there was one problem – Natsumi was not satisfied with her hair. She had wavy waist-length hair that she felt was difficult to manage and style. So, she decided to talk to Haruto’s mother, who was a skilled beautician, about getting a haircut.
Haruto’s mother agreed to help and offered to cut Natsumi’s hair at her shop. Natsumi was grateful for the offer and whispered to Haruto’s mother what haircut she wanted. She wanted a shorter hairstyle that would be easier to manage.
On the day of the haircut, Haruto told Natsumi that he had a part-time job and that he would meet her at the festival ground later. Natsumi arrived at Haruto’s mother’s shop and was led to a chair. Haruto’s mother pulled her hair into a wooden chopstick so that it was out of the way, and then wrapped a tissue around her slender neck.
Next, she tossed a huge thick cape over Natsumi’s body and drew it up to her neck. Natsumi fidgeted in the chair as the nylon covered her. Haruto’s mother looped the strap around Natsumi’s neck and through its ring. The strap was long enough to reach the floor, so the stylist could step on it to pull it tight. Since Natsumi was getting a haircut, Haruto’s mother also placed a heavy rubber cutting collar around her shoulders.
Haruto’s mother pumped up the chair a bit, then removed the wooden chopstick from Natsumi’s hair and let it fall free down the back of the cape. She then sectioned Natsumi’s hair into a loose ponytail and measured it. Haruto’s mother fastened a rubber band at the mark, which was at the base of Natsumi’s neck. This was the shortest Natsumi had ever taken her hair.
With Natsumi’s hair measured and banded, Haruto’s mother lifted a big pair of scissors from the vanity. She opened them and placed them right above the band. She pulled the neck strap tight and started cutting away at Natsumi’s ponytail. Her hair was straight, but rather thick. It took a number of big slices to free it from Natsumi’s head. Ultimately, the hair was no match for the scissors, and Haruto’s mother placed both on the vanity. Later she saw her ponytail placed on the table.
Then, Haruto’s mother began wetting down Natsumi’s hair. She shielded Natsumi’s eyes as she sprayed down the top. Even though no water got on her face, Natsumi still wrinkled her nose as Haruto’s mother sectioned and pinned her hair up.
With Natsumi’s hair sectioned and wetted down, Haruto’s mother picked up the smaller scissors and comb. She began combing and cutting, little snippets of red hair landing on the cape. Natsumi watched closely as Haruto’s mother worked. She gently edged herself as Haruto’s mother cut layer after layer, even thinning her hair with thinning shears. Natsumi watched as her hair was transformed into a perfect bob.
Then, Haruto’s mother moved in front of Natsumi and started sectioning her bangs and gave a straight line bang cut. Natsumi’s mother then brought clippers and plugged them in. She straightened the cape and sectioned Natsumi’s hair in preparation for her undercut.
She straightened the cape and then sectioned Natsumi’s hair in preparation for the nape undercut. With her hair sectioned, Haruto’s mother picked up the clippers and snapped a number three guard over the blades. She then placed a hand on top of Natsumi’s head and switched them on.
Natsumi jumped a little bit when the clippers popped to life, but Haruto’s mother’s hand held her still in the chair. She watched as the clippers made pass after pass up the side of her head, hearing the buzzing sound of the clippers and feeling her hair tumbling into her lap. Natsumi’s mother finished her undercut, then switched off the clippers and relaxed the strap, allowing Natsumi to lift her head.
Natsumi looked at herself in the mirror and was mesmerized. The new haircut looked cute on her, and she definitely looked more girlish with the bangs and bob. Now that the cutting was done and she was well satisfied, Haruto’s mother removed the cape and tissue, revealing a head full of short curls. Natsumi’s mother said it was not over as she brought a yukata and hair accessories to finish for her summer festival debut.
Natsumi was excited to see the yukata and hair accessories. She stood up from the chair and admired her new haircut in the mirror. She couldn’t believe how different she looked with a shorter hairstyle. Her wavy waist-length hair was now a sleek and stylish bob that framed her face perfectly.
Haruto’s mother helped Natsumi into the yukata and tied it securely around her waist. She then added a hairpin to Natsumi’s hair, which was now styled into loose curls. Natsumi felt like a princess, and she couldn’t wait to show off her new look at the summer festival.
Later, everyone was in the festival. Haruto had been waiting for Natsumi at the summer festival for what felt like an eternity. He paced back and forth, checking his phone every few minutes to see if she had sent him a message. He had been looking forward to this evening for weeks, and he couldn’t wait to see his girlfriend in her yukata.
As he scanned the crowd for any sign of her, Haruto suddenly caught a glimpse of Natsumi walking towards him. His heart skipped a beat as he saw her in a short bob haircut that he had never seen before. She had styled it with delicate hair accessories that complimented her features beautifully.
But it wasn’t just her hair that caught his attention. Natsumi was wearing a navy yukata that hugged her figure in all the right places. The color brought out the brightness in her eyes, and the intricate patterns on the fabric made her look like a delicate flower.
Haruto couldn’t take his eyes off her. He watched as she walked towards him with a graceful gait, her hair swaying gently with each step. When she finally reached him, Haruto was at a loss for words.
“Natsumi, you look amazing,” he finally managed to say.
“Thank you, Haruto,” she replied, blushing slightly at his compliment.
They spent the evening strolling through the festival, enjoying the sights and sounds around them. Haruto kept stealing glances at Natsumi, admiring her beauty and the way she carried herself. He felt grateful to be with such a wonderful girl, and he knew that he was lucky to have her in his life.
As they watched the fireworks display, Haruto put his arm around Natsumi’s waist and pulled her closer to him. He could feel her warmth and the gentle rise and fall of her breath. In that moment, he realized that there was nowhere else he’d rather be than right here, with her, admiring her beauty and basking in her love.
Later, Haruto completed his high school and was filled with a sense of pride and accomplishment. He had worked hard to earn his diploma, and he was excited about the future. But there was one thing that he couldn’t wait for – to spend the rest of his life with Natsumi.
At the high school graduation party, Haruto’s heart was racing as he watched Natsumi walk towards him. He took a deep breath and got down on one knee, taking out a small velvet box from his pocket.
“Natsumi, we’ve been together for so long, and you’ve been my best friend and my partner through thick and thin. I love you more than anything in this world, and I can’t imagine my life without you. Will you marry me?”
There was a collective gasp from the crowd, and Natsumi’s eyes widened in surprise. But then, a smile spread across her face, and she nodded her head vigorously.
“Yes, Haruto! I will marry you!”
The room erupted into cheers and applause, and Haruto slipped the ring onto Natsumi’s finger. He stood up and swept her into his arms, spinning her around as they laughed with joy.
Now that Haruto was graduated, he knew that it was time to start planning their future together. They talked about their dreams and aspirations, and they made plans for the wedding. Haruto was determined to make it a day that Natsumi would never forget, filled with love, laughter, and joy.
As they walked hand in hand into their future, Haruto knew that he had found the one person who would always be by his side, through good times and bad. He was excited for the journey ahead, and he knew that with Natsumi by his side, anything was possible.
Haruto and Natsumi’s wedding day was everything they had ever dreamed of. They had decided on a traditional Japanese ceremony, with Natsumi dressed in a beautiful white kimono, and Haruto in a smart black suit and a hakama.
The ceremony took place in a serene and peaceful temple, and the couple was surrounded by their closest friends and family. Haruto couldn’t take his eyes off Natsumi, who looked like a true angel in her flowing white kimono, her hair adorned with delicate flowers.
As they exchanged vows, Haruto felt his heart overflow with love for his bride. He promised to love her, honor her, and cherish her for the rest of his life, and he knew that he would do everything in his power to make her happy.
After the ceremony, the couple enjoyed a traditional Japanese banquet with their guests. The food was delicious, and the sake flowed freely, creating an atmosphere of warmth and happiness.
As the night wore on, Haruto and Natsumi found themselves alone, standing under a canopy of stars. Haruto looked into Natsumi’s eyes and knew that he was the luckiest man in the world. He wrapped his arms around her and whispered into her ear.
“I love you, Natsumi. More than anything in this world. You are my soulmate, my partner, my everything.”
Natsumi smiled up at him, her eyes shining with happiness.
“I love you too, Haruto. You make me feel like the luckiest woman in the world. I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you.”
As they held each other close, Haruto knew that they were embarking on a journey that would be full of love, joy, and happiness. And he couldn’t wait to share it with Natsumi, his beloved wife.
After the wedding, Natsumi became a part of Haruto’s family. She and Haruto’s mother had always gotten along well, and they had formed a close bond over the years.
Haruto’s mother had always admired Natsumi’s work ethic and friendly personality. So when Natsumi mentioned that she was looking for a job, Haruto’s mother didn’t hesitate to offer her a position as a receptionist at the salon.
Natsumi was thrilled at the opportunity to work alongside Haruto’s mother and be a part of her successful business. She quickly adapted to her new role, welcoming clients with a warm smile and helping to keep the salon running smoothly.
Haruto was proud of his wife’s hard work and dedication, and he loved seeing her fit in so well with his family. It made him happy to know that Natsumi was happy and fulfilled in her new job.
Over time, Natsumi’s role at the salon expanded. She started to help out with haircuts and styling, and her natural talent for hair and beauty quickly became evident. Haruto’s mother was impressed by Natsumi’s skills and her willingness to learn, and she began to mentor her in the art of hairdressing.
Natsumi was overjoyed to be learning from such a talented and experienced woman, and she threw herself into her work with passion and dedication. Her bond with Haruto’s mother grew stronger with each passing day, and the two women became the best of friends.
Haruto was happy to see his wife flourishing in her new job and forming such strong relationships with his family. He knew that she was in good hands with his mother, and he was proud of everything that she had accomplished.
Together, Haruto and Natsumi built a happy and fulfilling life, full of love, laughter, and new adventures. And they knew that with each passing day, their love would only grow stronger.
