Miss Judy put her panties and bra back on took out a haircolor applicator bottle from under the sink and placed it on the counter. She said this would help break up any loose dead skin and dirt on the scalp. I worked all the areas and when I finished scrubbing I gently began a soft motion without contacting the scalp, just working the lather through her hair.

I kept repeating the same motions over for about fifteen minutes when she said this was an upright shampoo technique and that I would be using this a few times a week on certain clients. Not just for shampoos but some treatments the beauticians wanted me to help with like some types of shampoo in color and other gloss and conditioning treatments too.
Now it was time to rinse and learn to do a backward shampoo technique. I turned her around and gently leaned her back in the shampoo sink. I made her comfortable, turned on the water, and checked the temperature. I let her feel it first to make sure it was a tolerable temperature for her. I used the same technique she used when she rinsed my hair before to make sure no water splashed in the client’s face.
I let the water flow over her hair and made sure all the shampoo was rinsed out of her hair and used a hand towel to soak the excess water up. She told me next you will do a backwards shampoo. This is the most common technique you will use on a daily basis. Most clients love this technique and some even fall asleep while you are shampooing them. She told me to grab the pink bottle of shampoo on the counter and use it for the second shampoo.
I poured some of this sweet-smelling pink shampoo into my hands and a little on her hair. I rubbed my hands together and then applied it to her hair. Working from the front of her hairline to the back of her hair, I worked this into an even thicker more luxurious lather. Using the same circular motions from before I worked the lather through her hair scrubbing the scalp then used a gentle slow motion through her hair. She moaned and said that I was very good at this and was going to make a great shampoo girl.
