She had only come for one thing…but she couldn’t help herself.

Diane has always been a mischievous and naughty girl. She constantly played pranks on other kids during school. Many of these were also very heavy. Over time, all this had diminished. Until that day.

Diane’s hair had grown a lot in recent months and had become too long for her tastes and to bear all the heat of those days. She had decided it was time to go cut them.

She liked change. And often too. It was very rare for her to frequent the same place twice. For this reason that day she had decided to go to a place unknown to her. Naturally, before going somewhere, she would do her homework. The shop she chose for the occasion seemed very special to her. She had never heard of a salon doing that before. Headphones were connected to the seats to listen to music, there was no sort of mirror and on some days promotions were offered, mandatory for anyone who entered. Furthermore, this salon was located in a fairly hidden area of the city and therefore not very easy to find. She seemed perfect to her. Without hesitation, she left the house and ran to find the address of the shop. After several unsuccessful attempts, she finally found it in front of her. It seemed to be made especially for those who get lost in the city.

The sign was very classic. All the conditions that customers had to respect were written on the glass. Needless to say, no one ever read them. She decided to enter.

The owner and only hairdresser of the salon immediately appeared in front of her.

“Good morning.”

“Hi. I’d like to get a cut.”

“Of course, right away. Come in.”

She did as she said.

“So. Did you have something in mind or are you giving me carte blanche?”

“I would like a cut short enough so I can stay cool.”

“Do you want a specific length?”

“The shorter the better. But please: not bald!”

The hairdresser giggled.

“Okay, I understand.”

She walked over to one of the desk drawers and pulled out a cape. She spread it all over Diane’s body. She pulled her hair out from under it.

“So do you want them short or very short?”

“I would say very short, but without exaggerating. At least leave 3 cm.”

“Okay.”

The hairdresser approached the chests of drawers again and this time took aclipper from one of them. She put a guard on it and set it so that she left the ‘at least 3cm’ Diane had asked for. Finally she turned it on.

“Then let’s get started.”

Her hand gently approached the back of Diane’s neck but she didn’t have time to cut a hair before the phone rang.

DRIIIIIN. DRIIIIIN. DRIIIIIN.

The owner turned off the clippers and went to answer.

“Hello?”

Diane remained alone in the chair, with her long platinum blonde hair.

“What?…Wait a second…I can’t come right now…Okay, I’m coming.”

She put the phone down.

“Unfortunately, something unexpected has arisen, Miss. I’m afraid your cut will have to wait. I have to go out and go somewhere. I’ll be gone for an hour. I have to ask you to come back another time.”

“I can wait. With all the effort I put into getting to this place I certainly won’t leave for such a short time. I’m a very patient person.”

The hairdresser looked at her watch.

“Okay. I’ll be back in about an hour. I apologize once again. If any other customers come in, please have them sit down and tell them I’ll be back in a bit.”

“I’ll see what I can do.”

“I thank you infinitely.”

The woman took off her apron and hung it behind the counter.

“I leave, then.”

The door opened and she came out.

Diane sat for about five minutes.

“BOOOOOOORIIIIIIING!”

She took off her cape and stood up. She decided to take a look around the store. She was quite large and comfortable. Mirrors were completely absent and there were headphones for music on the armrests of the chairs. There was no sign on the window with any promotion.

The tour ended behind the counter. Exactly where the owner had hung her work apron. Diane’s mischievous eyes fell right on it.

She came up with an idea of those that were hers so much, of those that she didn’t come up with in a while.

She could have been the hairdresser at the salon and no one would have noticed. There was no way that shop had regular customers. Certainly no one would have noticed.

She took off her sweatshirt and put on her apron. It fit her like a glove.

Now her living room was all hers. Her shop, her rules.

Another five minutes passed and a girl showed up at the door. She entered.

“Permit.”

“Hello. Come and sit.”

She then sat down.

“I saw the sign and took a chance while I was at it.”

Diane put a cape around the girl’s neck.

“How strange this place is.”

“What do you mean?”

“There’s not even a mirror!”

“It’s like this for the simple fact that we want customers to have a surprise.”

“I understand.”

“And if you look down you’ll also find a pair of headphones.”

“Hey, it’s true!”

“Put them on.”

The girl put them on and closed her eyes.

Diane moved away from her to go find the necessary tools. Meanwhile the customer was telling her what she wanted.

“I’d like a fairly short cut. I’d say shoulder length is fine.”

Diane wasn’t listening. She was too busy looking. Then she remembered that from time to time, the salon had mandatory promotions. Idea.

The girl abandoned herself completely to the music, no longer paying attention to anything that was happening around her. And Diane knew this.

“You are lucky little girl. You will have the honor of wearing the cut chosen by me.”

Diane picked up the electric razor that her owner had abandoned on the shelf.

“Today the promotion says: COMPLETE HAIR SHAVING!”

The razor returned to life in Diane’s hands. She pulled the girl’s head towards her and pushed the electric razor onto her forehead.

“Don’t worry. It’ll be short enough.”

The girl didn’t know what they were doing to her. She was going to have a really nice surprise when she came home.

A large lock of black hair found itself in Diane’s hands. She threw it on the floor carelessly. She continued the same way with other strands located on her forehead. The poor thing could not imagine the wicked nature of her executioner.

From the forehead to the temples, up to the sides. For the girl it was a kind of scalp massage. For Diane it was pure fun. Her blades mercilessly cut through anything that came within range. Half of the poor girl’s head was completely shaved. From the center of her head to the back of her neck her hair was still all intact, down to her butt. From there to the forehead it was just a scalp desert.

Soon her hair on the back was added to the ground. Not a strand had been spared. With a tap on her shoulder, Diane warned the girl that they were done.

“We’re done here.”

“Perfect then.”

“Please don’t touch it until you get home, okay?”

“Strange but…Ok.”

Diane freed her from the cape and made her pay.

An hour had already passed and as promised, the owner returned to the shop.

“Here I am. Have any customers come in?”

“None.”
