InactiveCheck out Waynebill’s latest effort today 5/14/21 … “My wife wants a kid”.
Not the story …
The comment posted by myself, and Waynebill’s response.
This is what HSN has to deal with, or not. This is what Waynebill and a few select other contributors are purposely doing to this site. And here I thought it was all about a certain percentage of contributors who just didn’t know the most basic things necessary to be able to write any semblance of what could possibly be considered a decent story. As it turns out, I couldn’t have been more wrong.
Wow! I truly did not see that coming!

InactiveFollow up to Waynebill and “My wife wants a kid” story …
Shorty after Waynebill read and responded to my comments, he posted a second ‘short’ story. To remind you … his response was “I do this for shits and giggles.” Right. So, the second story is entitled “A weird night of pleasure.”
Please remember his response, “I do this for shits and giggles,” before reading “A weird night of pleasure.”
After my direct exchange with Waynebill yesterday, and reading his first story (with his reply/explanation of why he submits his writings to HSN) and then reading his second story … I truly have nothing else to say, or add, to this sad situation.
Except, I will immediately stop posting comments to ‘the Forum’, as well as to any contributors on the HSN site. Over the past few weeks, I have truly tried to be part of the solution. From this point forward … the less I say, the less the chance that I might eventually become part of the problem. And, I don’t want that to happen.
Sincerely,

ParticipantI truly, truly don’t think Jenna is the problem here, and I hate the idea of losing her voice because of people like Waynebill.

ParticipantAt best, Waynebill might have taken exception to Jenna pointing out the weaknesses in his writing and reacted (in a rather unnecessary way). Ar worst, he is a nuisance along with several others. That said, Jenna is definitely not the problem. All she has been doing is to try to address a continuing problem – that of incessant, ill thought out and badly written stories. I could’t agree more with AB – I do not wish to lose Jenna’s voice either. The good writers (and I don’t include myself among them) could well be missing out and the site is highly likely to lose visitors if all they see is low quality stories.

ParticipantTo totallyhairless’s point, honestly, that’s one of the reasons I haven’t posted the next “Influencer” installment yet. If nobody’s going to see it, or it’s going to get buried, why even take the time to write it?

KeymasterI agree with the above and will try to sort this out

ParticipantJust jumping back into this thread to flag another story, which, as one user commented, is just clickbait:

KeymasterThanks for flagging AB, now deleted.

ParticipantThanks, Keymaster 🙂

KeymasterI’ve made some changes to the front page of the site today which have included a much longer “Latest Stories” list and tabs for the “Most Read” and “Most Liked” sections.
Probably most controversially I’ve added a “Trusted” star next to some authors. This process is done automatically and takes into account things like posting frequency and the number of “Likes” their stories usually get. I’m sorry if there are deserving authors who haven’t got this symbol yet. I may refine the system in the upcoming weeks. The word “Trusted” is also up for debate.
This is an ongoing process but hopefully you’ll see these things as positive improvements and as ever feedback is welcome.

ParticipantIf “trusted” doesn’t feel right, maybe “featured”?
Thanks, as usual!

KeymasterI think I want the moniker to reflect “guaranteed” quality whereas “featured” sounds like I’m artificially pushing some authors over others but happy to take other opinions on this.

KeymasterLOL, no idea why I’m the keymaster

ParticipantThat makes sense!

ParticipantThe only concern with “trusted” being auto generated based on posting frequency is that when we have one of those writers who just submits a bunch of dreck all at the same time, is there a chance they’ll also get labeled “trusted”?
